Makes sense to me since it is short notice for anyone who wanted to switch bodies for the upcoming race.
Was watching some of the early street outlaws shows and it seems to me some of them needed more knowledge about tuning their fuel/nitrous ratios. Don't get me wrong, I broke every part of the drivetrain at one time or another until the cars were pretty bullet proof. Tuning however I never burnt a piston in all those years, just did not seem that hard to figure the A/F/N2O ratio and fuel pressure. I also used 2 good fuel pumps. Now I surely did drop some valves into the motor when using cheap stainless valves. My final builds used Titanium valves and I still got a couple of those. Spring pressures were around 1000 lbs open. Those big motors were still pulling hard at 76-7700. Fortunately rev limiters kept a lid on them when an input shaft or drive line part broke.

noted Bill. We didn't have any clear rules for bodies for these two classes until now. The new rule is to discourage the top 5 on each list from changing bodies but will give them the option to do so. Most all of our events have at least two traditional eliminations type races which allows a racer to go for "best appearing" if they choose to do so. The Charger body on my 4 Gear Outlaw is something I threw together in a hurry. Was hoping to upgrade it. Looks like the list race is the only venue for 4 Gears
That Charger was a sharp looking body. I liked that one. There are a couple of 4 gear classes that will be running at the end of the year. Nostalgia Funny Car (stock) in Sept at Lions and Doorslammers (Comp) again in Oct at Pikes Peak. There is another event in the works that will include 4 gear Match racing that will be sometime in May or June. FYI........

Jeff thanks for the kind words about the Charger. Didn't know it posed for a glamor shot. It's nice to see that photo. That body was selected because it would be unique and required little modification to fit on a 4 Gear chassis. The paint job turned out pretty nice but nothing like ones that several of you guys put out. You guys set the standard pretty high.
Was wondering if anyone might recognize the Chargers origins when I sent it in for the race.
I appreciate the heads up on future 4 Gear events.
Bill

"Glamour shot"....that's funny! There were actually several cars that posed in the AJR garage, but I forgot to post them at the end of the race. So I will do it here. These were some of the stand outs in the Doorslammer Class at the 2017 Winter Nationals.

will anyone have heartache if we implement the body rule after Dave's race? I think it is a fair request seeing how the race is only a few weeks away and this discussion just started yesterday. This makes sense, better to keep the discussion going for now, make a final decision after the Smoky Mountain Spring Nationals. mm

4/13/17. I will call out NoSub for the #4 spot or whoever is there at that time. Jungle Jim has actually slowed so it needs some work. On the other hand the Rebel Nomad is flying low.

Check the most recent post, race was already run, you moved up to #5 due to 2 no shows and your win over Jungle Jim.

This is my call out for the #3 spot if SKR shows. If I move up to #3 three by no show default then I'll call out JJ for #2
