Good idea Bill. It would be a good idea for someone who has not run an event before to start with just one class and a point series race would be a good one to start with.

I like that idea. The Inlines are very popular sales items today. Only AW still makes new Pancakes. I have pretty much featured Inlines at my races. Therefore I rarely get to race them other than the Unlimited class at my own race. I like the Pancakes but I would like to do some Inline racing also.

Personal preference I think. I feel I can get rid of the high spots better with the knife. I try to use a light touch so I just catch the high spots. When I am done I usually see the silver coating removed in some places and not in others. Don't know if you can do that with an emery board. Never tried a comparison if you do let me know how it works out.

Seems like keeping the lists as they are is what most racers want. I have been participating in the lists for a long time and I will continue to do so. I already have plans for my race in May which should be a fairly large event. I will not start any new series at that time but I will join in if anyone wants to start one after that.

What I was saying is switch the current list racing to points series instead, not dropping it completely, which I would think would be unfair. Running 4 point series however would be a challenge to keep track of. Personally I can easily run many more heads up races than I can list races. I do appreciate the help that was given in the past keeping up with the lists. If this discussion is going to cause friction lets drop it.

Sold about 50-60 cars/bodies out of all the cars I have in January on E bay. They are making it tougher with tax added on purchases and them taking 16% now on everything including the tax.

Dropping the existing lists that have been ongoing for years does not seem right to me. This is what I would like, DROP THE LIST RACING COMPLETELY and run a 3GO and 4GO points series, with the same rules we currently are using since many of us have prepared cars for that. then we could add a Gasser and an Inline series to them. The list challenge has always been a nightmare for me to run anyway. I can run 4 regular races in the time it takes me to run one list race class.

You don't want a wobbly rear rim. I put the chassis in a vice, spin it at about 9 volts without the tires and use an exacto knife with a magnifier, so I can see it closely, to get rid of any wobble.

Nice work Jeff. I worked on an AFX chassis with a similar brass cluster gear. It also had problems with the mesh. I believe it was just not long enough to meet the crown gear properly. Glad to hear yours made 50 runs with no trouble.

Sorry to hear about Macs passing. May he rest in peace. I had built a couple of chassis for Mac in the past and he was always a good guy to deal with.

The race is held at my house in Knoxville, Tennessee. It is not for T Jet only, all pancake chassis will be allowed. I will have to test running them at 26 volts as I tried 28 volts and there was some arcing on the track that was hurting the rails on the positive side.
