Now on to the front end. Tools used - Needle nose wire cutters - Soldering Iron - Acid Flux, Lucky Bob's part #1200 - Solder, 60/40 Rosin core solder from Radio Shack - Sharpie Marker - #59 Drill bit - Drill Press Supplies - .032 Piano Wire - 1/16 X .014 K&S Brass Tube - 3/32 K&S Brass Tube We need to remove part of the front chassis so the die cast motor will fit better. I drew lines of where I was going to cut. Here I made a few dots with my marker of where I am going to drill holes for the front end extension. Chassis is in a vise and ready to drill using a 59 hobby drill bit. I drill down to where the front motor magnet sits. Here we have the front end extension ready to be soldered. The staple shaped piece will attach to the chassis and the handle bars looking piece will attach to the axle tube. Leave the staple a little long and we will cut it down later. I made the bends using a pair of needle nose pliers. The dimensions will depend on where you have drilled your chassis holes. Soldered. The reason I made it two pieces is so I could adjust the rake of the front end easily by moving the position of the handle bars up or down before soldering. Here is the axle tube attached. 3/32 K&S Brass tube. Now do a dry fit of the front end inserted into the chassis holes. We will not cut the front end (staple) until we have our motor. The axle is a brass tube size 1/16 X .014. Next we will attach the frond end, Motor, Make a wing and mount, Wheelie bars and then it's off to paint.

Thanks Jimmy, Chuck gave me some pointers on soldering. I've been using Acid Flux from Lucky Bob's Part #1200 and 60/40 Rosin core Solder from Radio Shack. Place a little Acid Flux on the parts that are to be soldered and then some solder to the tip of your iron. Now place it on the joint you are wanting to solder. I'm getting better but am no pro.
