What are you using to store completed cars. I bought 2 of the matchbox containers but there is a lot of space and they bounce around a lot. I thought about getting thin foam to line the box but is there something better that you have found?

Typically when our cars lose we just crush em. Takes up less storage space that way. OK... OK... For shipping to a race, I've bought some fishing tackle boxes for sinkers and lures at Walmart that work well for me. I do add foam under and over the cars and so far it's worked great for mailing to races. For storage at home I bought a couple of the mirrored background Hot Wheels wall mounted shelves with the Plexiglas sliding door before I found the ebay guy from Canada who makes some really good and inexpensive Plexiglas shelves. They don't have the mirror backing but work really well. I've put my shelf queens in those since the cover is a little more cumbersome to use than the sliding door ones. The sliders are mounted by the track starting line and it's where I store the "players". Of course if you want to see the "Captain" of the storage systems, go to Slugger's HO website, www.sluggercan.com and look at his HO room. Makes me look like an the newbie I really am. If you go to Joann's Fabrics or other "craft type" stores, they sell a thin foam sheet about 12"x24"x1/8" thick that we are using to set the cars on when we race. I made a rectangle of card board about the size of my largest car, laid it on the foam and traced around it with a Sharpie pen. Then I kept doing it in pairs down the foam sheet until I had 8 pairs done. I moved over to the right and traced where I would place the winner from each of the first pairings to set up the 2nd round pairings. Then I moved over again for 3rd round and again for the final. That works for 16 cars. Use two sheets and you've got enough in order for a 32 car field. It works well for us. Tell you in a couple months if it works well for the S/S Nationals. It better!

Harbor Freight has some great individual parts containers but they are just a little shy to put a completed car into, but I love them for parts.

Try custom_display@rogers.com to contact him. I don't remember his ebay seller's name. Just ask him. Very nice guy and good products for the cheap price.
