What do you do to a Bob Sharpe Datsun that has a bad roof? Cut the sucker off! Similar to this one.

Thanks. I used .010 styrene that I picked up from the local hobby shop. After cutting the roof off place your car upside down on the styrene and trace the opening with a marker. This will get you close on filling the open area. Tack your styrene on to your car with Krazy Glue and then to fill in the gaps I've been using JB Weld. Sand your JB weld when it's dry, repeat if necessary to fill in pits. Here is a pic of tracing out the styrene. This car here was a perfect candidate for filling in the passenger side. It's one of my favorite bracket cars. A before and after shot of this project. ]

Sam, I have a couple questions. What did the driver come out of? Is it a plastic one or lexan? I have heard a few people on other boards talk about 'lexan interiors' but I have yet to see any. Are they 'custom made' or what? Other question, is the driver mounted straight to the top part of the plastic? I tried to cut the top off one before, and I tried to mount the driver 'flush' with the plastic ("countersink" it) , but the driver hit the gear plate on the car! Still trying to figure out how to fix it, cause I REALLY like that body! BTW...BOTH the Vette AND the Datsun look REAL good! ;D Ron (Bondo)

Ron, the drivers I used on the Datsun and Corvette are from AFX Can-am donor cars. I know exactly what you mean by the driver hitting the top plate when you mount them from the bottom side. This car is a Tyco inline car so I didn't have as much clearance problems like you do on Tjets. I did have to sand the bottom of the driver with some 400 grit as much as possible just to get the body to sit as low as it does. Here is a shot of a lexan interior from HO Express that I ordered from a local Hobby Shop. I haven't seen these listed anywhere online yet. Scale Auto does sell a plastic interior that is similar.
