I had gotten a 22 foot length of Model Motoring straight track today with push button controlers and 2 power packs and terminal track for $65 shipped! Got it today and set it up for a test run. Everything seams to work fine. I know its not the best choice, but for starting out and for the price, I cant loose! This is my entry into the game! LOL. Cant wait until my family room is done and I can mount this to my bench work and solder all of the joints together and get it as a permanent piece! Thanks. Jody

3 of the tracks in the St Louis rotation are T Jet (although O Guage that is a little wider) when properly cleaned and assembled they can be as smooth and reliable as any track made. As a person that had a T Jet road/oval for years here is some prep advice. Take each section and spend some time cleaning it up. Bend the contacts so they contact but don't push the track apart to much. I use a Dremil with a wire brush, carefull not to harm the plastic. Only use screws to hold down track when you need to, and then don't cinch them down to tightly. On the 3 tracks mentioned before you would be hard pressed to hear a click between sections, so it can be more smooth than tracks that came later. Good Luck, and if you need help I can hook you up with Mr T Jet Greg Skelton who builds unbelieveably smooth T Jet tracks. DOG

Cool. Thanks. I was wondering, would baking soda water be good for cleaning the track, like with a battery terminal? Thanks for the suggestion on the tabs! I have heard that the old T jet push button controllers do not allow full power to the track? Is there any way to remedy this? Thanks. Jody
