OK RACERS LISTEN UP ! TIME TO GIVE SOME STUFF AWAY ! I would like to try out a new contest called QUICK TIME. Based on the TV show Pass Time all you do is guess the fastest pass time for the upcomming SS Test & Tune. IMPOSSABLE YOU SAY ! NAW let me give you some background stats. Tims track (2008 SS race) 11'-7" timed Phils AMX 3.034 fast time ALLSTARS track (2009 SS race) 8'- 9" timed same car 1.254 fast time One more thing the fastest time recorded at the 2008 event at Tims was 1.098 The rest is just science! THE RULES... 1 guess per contestant. The race staff or anyone assisting in the T & T are not eligable I'll take the closest guess without guessing faster than the time ran. The time should be listed in 3 decimal points--- example--- x.xxx Your guess must be on this thread (so I can keep track of the order) If more than 2 folks have the winning guess I will award prize to the first guess recorded. Guess must be posted by midnight 3-21-09 The prize 2 contestants will recieve a NOS stock T Jet chassis. Put on those thinking caps, or your x-ray glasses, or whatever, and get those guesses in.

Congrats on you recent win.
About the contest, I am not sure which direction 'without going over' means.
For example: guess #1 1.557 guess #2 1.498
actual fast time is 1.500
Although guess #2 is only off by .002, am I correct that guess #1 would be the winner? The way I am seeing this is that guess #2 'over' estimated the actual time.
Thanks for creating the contest. Gives us new guys without a track (but not for long) something to think about.

Forgot to ask, how many places right of the decimal? Most post I read here go three places, but I have seen four somewhere.

Guess # 1 would be correct just like the tv show If you guess a time that is faster than the run thats what I ment by going over. Also I think 3 decimal points is what most race programs display, that would work. 2 good questions, I'll clarify.

WDWAHO Raceway has Drag Pro 2000 by Trackmate and gives four digits right of the decimal point if you want to carry it out that far.

OK, first Florida has thicker air than Colorado, warmer so electricity will flow slower.closer to the equator earths spin is faster placing more G-Force on the cars ........ 0.9555 Now back to the Alzheimer's moments I look for some real competitive times as everybody has learned a lot,and the new people entering have a lot of resources here to help out, should be interesting.
