Maybe C class but my first WIN !!! I figured those MOPARS have so much power they would get airborne, tear the tires off.or as the song says"pushed out of shape an hard to steer"

Now a serious question for us C class, what were the problems that caused so many DNFs out of slot on launch, tires coming off. wheelie bars touching lifting, out of slot Mid track, I know test@tune would have helped but we could learn from a report from the guys on the scene

Hey Dave , maybe something like a 3x5 card with info like times and maybe a tuneing tip might help . I know my cars are not the fastest and could use some good advice . I know it would be more work for the race holder but it might help the raceing . Just a thought

I will reply to the "C" class and anyone else that had an issue in any of this sites Proxy races. The Test & Tune is the best way to guage your car on the track it will be running on, there is no other way. Tracks are ALL diffrent, voltage plays a big part as well. Bottom line there is no silver bullit here, I need to look at your car and run it to give advise.
Dave I had planned on sending you a PM on a issue we saw in your car, and I will add that this site is full of imformation on setting up a T Jet chassis.but bottom line the Test & Tune on the track you will be racing on is the best way to guage your cars proformance, and get free advice and help.
I have been building these cars for some 15 years now raceing every Monday night, and am still suprised by the proformance of some of the guys in these Proxy races. The thing I have seen over and over is everyone is willing to help, but it can't be done in most cases without running the car down the track. Dog

Thanks Kdog, tear that car apart, even with all the articles and tips,I can't get straightened out.on the other hand , like you say my cars very seldom go down a track, and i try to judge wheelie bar set up by comparing chassis height to my SS cars on a block of wood so the set up block will be a big help. I hope it helps all the new racers out there to keep from making the same mistakes!

Kind of why this is a fun class. Just trying to make a good pass down the strip without hopping, deslotting etc. can be as much of a challenge as building a strong motor. We've seen the same deal here with proxy races in the past. Wheelie bar height is a big deal. You want to set them as close to the track as possible. Pick up shoe springs play a big part as well. If you have them stretched too far, it will want the front end to lift. Also if you use braids on your pick up shoes. Make sure they are flexible and not loaded down with solder making them stiff and that there is not a glob of solder where you soldered them. You want them as flat as possible on both sides so that the front end is not sitting higher on one side. This could cause some ill launches. If your using slip on silicone rear tires, make sure that the adhesive your using bonds to the tire and wheel. Silicone window weather stripping adhesive works pretty good. When you go to bond them make sure the tire is pushed on the wheel as straight as possible. Silicone foam tires work the best for this class. They are already bonded and trued. The silicone is applied over the foam and makes for the best traction and no wobble, at least not from the tires. These are just a few things I'd check on. I guess the track Volts could be turned down........ Nah, That would be boring

NO,don't lower the voltage the B and A showed the times and the speed but thank goodness the change was made for class divisions, the challenge is to improve each race. How bout a invitational race of champions for those who finished in class A&B in Ratt ,Super Stock, an Gasser. at the end of the year
