You'll never get those lower ets and higher speeds using Tyco based stuff. The way that G+,G3 armatures and chassis are timed seem to make all the difference ,by design. Also your gear ratio selection is very important. The way you set up your endbells.,pick up shoes, and springs or lack there of. No heavy 1/64 molded resin bodies off diecast cars here.Steve sent me some that he speacialy molds himself from a home made mold.Made out of a light resin. They resemble the thingypit of a fighter jet.You can see them on Sluggers Web sight. They weigh nothing. Also what I've been taught to use by these guys as a controller, is a trans brake switch that they' use on real drag cars.I' ve used them for 6 years now never having to replace one.they'll handle all the amps you want.

The Tyco that was used had polymers from the early to mid nineties from an R.O. road course car. We don't have any interest in the neo cars here or really any high dollar armature/magnet combo class. We tried to run P/M's with polymers and 32 spud arms but there was no interest. I do admirer you guys that do push the envelope to see how fast they can go.

Yeah Those cars they run are high dollar in my opinion,I think they have well over$150.00 in most of the fast cars.My rule is keep it simple cheat and fun,LOL.

WOW time for me to chim in. Our tracks are shorter because the last 3 feet on a 20.5 foot track drags down the fast cars because of the magnets pulling harder than the torque we have at that speed. We did a lot of testing before we made that change. It also fits in most basements easier. The testing was well worth the effort and the track works real good. Only 4 car builders have hit 100 MPH that we know of and only 3 Tracks. Steve Geary in NE, Tim Kirk in PA and Mine in VA. It is not just the cars that make these thing go. The track surface, rail size, power to the track and a lot of know how. The timing system Steve uses produces exactly the same as my Track Mate system. Daniel has worked real hard and does a fine job keeping us all in tow. Are we hard core, we don't think so 8^). The 0.165 ET car is my car. I sent it to Steve to put a special arm in that I had from Gary Beetle and it worked. The car did run that fast on Steve's track and didn't run that good on mine. It was a one time effort and it worked. Steve built another car earlier in the year and he did over 115 MPH with it and the ET was off so we built an ET car. More Power Just having a little fun By the way Tim Kirk of PA was the first man (that we know of) that hit over 100 MPH

I finally got one of my outlaw tjets to run in the .2's but trashed the arm in the process. This on my 17' 6" track with 24v. Had an inline car hit .285 once but that's about it for the out dated parts I got.

Some information on a Land Speed Record. Mike Block of www.fsmra.com fame, does have a "flying mile" track that was built and never set up (1 scale mile at 1/64 scale). If anyone has 70+ foot of linear space, a good power supply, and a timing system, I am sure Mike B. would be willing to sell the track. Just a thought!

tuff111s... i dought your car ran 144 mph, that might be scale speed, but the 113 mph on this post was actual speed, the fastest 1/24 scale drag i heard is about 130mph.

Kdog, That is Bob. We were exchanging emails last night and I mentioned this site to him. I told him to be sure to check out the section on the NTRA Super Stock Nationals in St. Louis, so maybe Bob will be able to make it over for some passes down Tim's track.
