RATT RODD RULES FOR 2009 ARE POSTED!
If you read them over you will see little change, other than allowing T jet chassis to compete heads up against JL/AW chassis.
Basically, any part that was a part of any T JET,. JL, or AW chassis is legal with the exception of tires, which must meet Ratt Rodd limits.
The only magnet restrictions are as follows: No Magna Trac or similar oversize magnets. (JL and AW may be sanded to fit a standard T Jet Chassis) and of course no Poly Mags. So any Standard, Wild one, Tuff Ones, Super II mags are all ok. Most builders feel the strongest magnets of this type are found in JL/AW chassis, so opting to use any of the aforementioned, is within class limits for both Gasser and Ratt Rodd.
Also when reading, compare to Gas Class there are only Two diffrences: No Chassis cuts, and a 14 ohm limit.
The Future Nostalgia Pro Stock class may well use indentical rules as well, With the one exception being rear tire size to be determined.
Competition Altered class, should it appear next seaon, will likely use the Gasser Chassis.
Setting the arm limit at 14 ohms is intended to simplify 'teching.'
It gives plenty of leeway for minor production variations, and takes the room temperature out of the equation. If an arm measures UNDER 14.0, it will be disqualfied, irrespective of room temp. Don't lose sleep over this, ANY stock JL/AW arm should be fine, with a good safe margin.
The no chassis cuts rule is one we might grandfather in for Gasser class (over next couple of years.) There are so many other variables other than these tiny weight differences created by chassis mods, we don't really feel they are a factor. It will simplify the build, and preserve precious vintage chassis. Note the removal of the top plate 'rail,' as far back as the midline of the armature is not considered a modification fror ANY T Jet type class. This mod is often necessary to fit certain bodies on a Vintage T jet chassis..
So a possible class structure for the iommediate future shakes out something like this.
SS:..........as written
Ratt Rodd: 14.0 ohm Any T jet Part and there are tire restrictions.
No Cuts
Nostalgia Pro Stock 14.0 ohm Any T jet Part plus tire restrictions.
No Cuts
Gasser Class 5.0 Ohm Any T jet Part plus tire restrictions
No Cuts (proposed)
BB/FC Gasser Chassis with tire restrictions
In summary you have a SS Class followed by four classes using the identical chassis with specific tire rules and GAsser and Altered allowing the 5.0 ohm armature. i.e: any Production T jet arm except the Quadralam
Pro Mod will be unchanged.
