Wow, insainly long time since ive been on here! Anyway, after winning Top Eliminator at the last HOHRA race at KDogs. And also using one of KDogs cars (Thanks Kevin!) Its time to prepare my own cars alot better to take another win.
Iam wondering why do other racers shim the passenger side traction magnet to the height of the drivers side? When placing a magnet, does the drivers side sit lower to the track? I would think that they would be level. Whats the logic on this?
Thanks

Yep, shim the other side (or both). When I built my Ratt Rod for NTRA races, Sam told me how to do it. If you use a Ultra G Tjet chassis that already has the magnet, cut off the 'housing' holding that magnet in. If you use a 'stock' chassis, this won't be necessary. The magnets I use are from Radio Shack (the little round ones, I think they are 'rare earth' but I could be wrong). Go buy a hole punch for paper stuff, the single small ones, look like pliers, probly get them at WalMart or in other stores office supply areas. The shims are simply sheet plastic, You can use different thicknesses, but the thicker they are the harder that are to 'punch'. Simply super glue them to the chassis and the mags at whatever height you need. I think you can use JB Weld too, altho I have never tried it, super glue has always worked fine for me. As far as the actual height from track to mags, you will probly have to get that from others on here, as I really just go till they look 'right' Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

I like both of mine sitting level with one another. I do the same as Bondo and raise the lower one so it sit level with the higher side. Super glue works the best.
