Does any one have any speed secrets. I do not have a home track nor do I have a local track to test and tune. What gear ratio seems to work?

Cars that arrived for the Test N Tune are: Eddie Banks orange pearl 63 Corvette and flat black & red 41 Willy's panel Cordell Steward aka "Ninjatek" red 63 Nova and flat black 56 Chevy .Lonnie Robbins aka "Thunderwreck" Stone Woods and Cook Willy's and red Hot Rod The red Hot Rod won't meet NHRA Tech due to the roll bar not being a 6 point. (jus kiddin)
As you can see it's 1:07 AM on the East coast, I'm toast and we will run the cars and post the times Sunday evening.

Hey, L_brown...............I think the consensus for full length tracks is the 'highest' gear set (lowest ratio) available, i.e the 14 tooth drive pinion and the 15 tooth crown gear. On shorter tracks however, I am not positive. On ninajtek's site there is a tuneup guide.............much power is found through fine tuning and matching of parts, smooth gear mesh, wheels not wobbling etc.

No time for race prep now..............My cars will be in the staging lanes for the finals, tho. Been fighting some health issues..........believe it or not, among other things, carpal tunnel or some similar ailment that makes typing a chore........too much guitar playing I think! I'll be keeping my hand in tho, with some of the familiar contributions as weeks progress.

Thats a good one!! Actually until I began to experience it< I was rather skeptical. It is often painful enough to wake me at night, and I wake in the morning with little to no feeling in my left hand. I really think the guitar is the culprit, and I am not about to stop playing.

OK! Test N Tune Results are in! Only six cars showed up as the guys who entered last time must be either too confident to enter or know their gonna get punished anyway... so why pay the shipping. Each lane is on it's own Galanko 0-20 volt power supply and was adjusted to 18.00 volts for Rat Rod and 19.99 Volts for Gasser. Each car ran two times in each lane and the voltage was checked again at the end of qualifying and it did not creep up or down at all. The best time for each car is listed here. Notes are sent back with the cars for each pass. Thanks for entering.
18 volt Rat Rod Red and Black 40 Willy's of Eddiebee from Bloomsburg, PA ran a best of .6249 at 10.89 MPH Red 67 Chevy Nova from Bear, DE of Ninjatek ran a best of .5696 at 13.42 MPH Red Hot Rod of Thunderwreck from St. Charles, MO is leading qualifying with a .5228 at 14.82 MPH. Congrats Thunderwreck!
Gasser Results: Eddiebee's pearl orange 63 split window Vette ran a .8683@8.24 MPH Ninjatek's black 56 Chevy ran a .4659 @ 17.53 MPH Thunderwreck's Blue Stone, Woods and Cook Willys ran a .4224 @17.94 MPH Congratulations again Thunderwreck!
Demon plans to send a special drawing prize to.... (Insert drum roll here.) The red a black Willy's won the draw. Congratulations Eddiebee! Ah! I guess you could say "the check's in the mail" Eddiebee. OK, I'll get Demon your mailing address!
Post Qualifying Note:
We noticed that even though each car was treated the same, all but one car slowed down just a little on each pass. We warmed them up as per instructions except on the 4th pass. due to their slowing down I took the liberty to warm them up at least about 5 seconds about 10 seconds before their pass. It helped all but one. Only one racer asked us to warm the car up before a run, so I hope you other guys don't mind that we did on the last pass. It helped more than it hurt. My suggestion is a 5-8 sec. warm up as that seems to work best.
Also, please note on your paperwork which car is the Gasser and which is the Rat Rod. (I thought Rat Rods were supposed to look "ratty".)
Thanks to those that entered and my wife says thanks to those that didn't. (jus kiddin) See you next month! BE THERE!! er... SEND IT HERE!!!

OK! Test N Tune Results are in . . . . . . Thanks for entering. Looks like I may be a little competitive this race. With a little more tweaking might even sneak into A Class. Thanks for running the cars.

Thanks for the test and tune. Looks like my cars are a little off the mark , actually a lot off the mark for the Corvette. I don't have a track of my own for testing , so can anybody give me some advice to try and step up my program some. I would really appreciate it. And Thanks Demon for the pick.
