I know some of these areas have been addressed before, but I thought I would take a moment to show a couple out of package issues with new Tomy Super G+ Rollers part #8840. This chassis has the newer glossy black plastic where the older chassis has more of a grayish tint similar to the G3 composite. The newer style chassis is very brittle. If you have the option, inspect the chassis very good before buying. The first and most common is splitting of the chassis where the guide pin goes. It may just be coincidence, but of the 10 that I have had arrive split in this location, all have the number 1 molded into the chassis by this slot. The next and and least common is the axle slot on the back of the chassis where the suppot tab for the traction magnet and slot intersects. I have only had 2 like this and once again it may just be coincidence, but these have a #2 molded in by the guidepin. These problems just started over the last 13 months. Tomy has been very good about replacing these through my 2 suppliers, but it is starting to get annoying. Thought I would start this thread as a heads up regarding recent issues to try and educate everyone about critical areas to look for. I want to make myself clear that this is not a bash or rant, mearly a tech tip a sense.

Thanks for the 'heads up' I just bought two of these chassis used off Ebay. After reading this, I checked both out. Turns out I have one of each, a 1 and 2. Neither of these issues appear to present on these. Not sure how old these are either, but they do both appear to be a 'dark' black, so I'm assuming they're the newer ones. But at least it's good to know that these don't have the problems (yet..lol). Would be nice to see more tips like this one. Since I'm sure the MMPS class will start to 'pick up' soon, as more racers catch on to how much fun it can be. And since this IS the 'chassis of choice' for that class. ;D Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

That is a common problem on the black plastic chassis. All the new ones that I order from Lucky Bob's are the newer grey versions, Made out of Nylatron I believe not as brittle.
