Here's the last pair of round 1. It has the #7 qualifier, Wood's Vega (#31) against the #10 qualifier, Sukafish's Dodge Charger (#26). As you can guess this was the one that I was pulling for. Even with my .510 light, the chargers 1.244 was caught and passed by vega as it ran a 1.182 with a .541rt. The win margin was just .031.

Ok everybody, this is it. The final round of the NF/C summer showdown. In the tower lane we have the quick little Mustang. In the pit side lane we have the Jungle Jim Vega which gets quicker every pass that it makes. Brendon has the controls on the Mustang and I'm driving the Vega. Brendon cuts a .504 light and hustles the Mustang down the strip in a respectable 1.162 seconds. Even with the valiant effort there's no upset. Rick's Vega wins with a blistering 1.078 pass. Even with the slower .549rt Rick still wins by .039 seconds. Well Rick, once again you were the class of the field. I think maybe a full tear down inspection may be in order. congratulations on your win and I'll see you next weekend. I'll try to have your cars back together by then ;D

Well, with this one in the books, I want to thank everyone that took the time to build cars for a brand new class. I know summers are a busy time, so thanks for playing along. I do have to say we had a blast thrashing all of these little cars. I need to give a special thanks to Derwood. He was the race director today. He ran the track paired up the cars and documented all of the runs. Thanks Bud.
When it's all said and done, just remember we are grown men playing with little toy cars.
I'm going to bed!

Great to see Jungle Jim and Jungle Pam back in the winner's circle after all these years! Saturday night, under the lights at Mopar City Dragway, the smell of burning ozone and arcing brushes -- it doesn't get any better. There's gonna be a party at Jungle's transporter tonight, you bet! Thanks to Matt, Derwood and the Ohio Mafia for running a great race. No doubt that N/FC is a class that's sparked interest -- lots of great looking cars. I'm looking forward to my visit to Mopar City next weekend . . . if I'm never heard from again, please send out an APB for Tony the Shoemaker. In the immortal words of JJ: "Drag racing is faaarrr ouuuttt!" Cheers, Rick V.
