scottman With only 15 cars I would guess that the #1 qualifer will get the by run first round. Rick would this be right or are you going to split the field? Derwood16 Yes, No. 1 qualifier will get first round bye in 16-car eliminator. Rick V.

Sam showed 'em how they do it in Colorado, taking the top spot -- but before he enjoys his Rocky Mountain high, he's going to have to contend with the Ohio Mafia's Mopars and several fast flyers from Florida. This was a wild qualifying session compared to the Stockers, with 18 volts of juice and the fans on their feet. Tyler had 'em screaming when he did a power wheelstand at half-track, backed in down, dropped the pin in the groove, and still ran a .734. Not to be outdone, Swamper had his Nova sideways and up on two wheels in the lights on the next pass. Derwood's Cuda went straight for the sky on its first run in the left lane. He got the Mopar settled down for its second run in the right lane, and nailed the No. 5 qualifying spot. Two cars are having engine problems. Swamper's Nova smells like oiled brushes, and Eddiebee's 57 Chevy is putting out death smoke. Power was set at 18 volts DC for Stocker and Gasser qualifying, using our precision voltmeter ("If it's accurate, it's a fluke.") Even with 8 feet of shutdown, many of the Gassers were making it to the Terrible Towel at the end of the track. Ninjatek's '57 turned turtle in the lights and went into the sand trap on its top. He gets extra points for style. Next up: Nostalgia Funny Car qualifying.

Hey Rick up better have the safety crew on stand by at the sand trap (towel) when you run the grudge race for Toms car. Its been known to do some wall damage. You could use some of the droppings from the back of the truck that Tom and his car road in to patch the wall. ;D

Nostalgia Funny Car Qualifying

Although the NF/C class isn't running for championship points at the NTRA World Finals, the season finale has attracted a topflight field of cars. Running on 13.8 volts, it was an all-440GTX show in qualifying as the Dodge Father nailed down the No. 1 and No. 2 spots with his might Mopars and set the Top Speed at a booming 11.96 mph. But Matt doesn't have this one in the bag -- Color Me Gone stuck a brush on its second qualifying run, and sputtered through the lights on 5 cylinders, and Derwood's Challenger also hung a brush on his warmup.
If the Hemis falters in eliminations, the Vegas of Bluegnuoy and Nosubfor3 are right there, along with Wood's 'Stang.
Lane choice? Doesn't matter. Seven cars ran their best time in the left lane, seven ran their best in the right.
51 cars have made qualifying runs today in three eliminators, and the fields are set. Race officials are working on the elimination ladders, and the racing will begin after a short break.

Well, at least in this race, I'm actually in the top half of the field. Already the best car I ever had! Rick, great job on the pics and reporting. Although I think you need to tell your reporter he shouldn't take so many trips to the bar. LOL. Would be great to get the updates a little 'quicker'..LOL. ;D Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

BTW, Beautiful cars guys! Diggin the Rat F/C Scott. Hairy's F/C looks outstanding. Gotta like Tony's ride. Hope the Colorado Gasser driver doesn't end up in it before eliminations Looks like Demon found a Girlfriend on the drive in as well. Gotta love these races and the craziness that comes with them.
