is it possible to reuse part of an old mold for the next mold? by chopping it up in a blender?
whats the simplest way to make a resin body wider to fit a chassis ?

Hooly , don't know the answer to your mold question, but as far as widening a body goes....check out Sam's (skr ) thread in the chop shop under "projects in progress"

No, you can't reuse the mold (if it's a mold made from two part RTV rubber anyway). The rubber is 'chemically cured' which means that one of the two parts is a 'hardener' or 'catalyst'. To widen the body you have a couple of options. Either get two bodies and cut and glue them in the middle (see Sam's [SKR] post under the 'projects in progress' thread on the Demon Pro Mod he is currently working on) or just cut the one down the middle using some type of hobby saw or a Dremel and use a 'gap filling' type of glue (i.e. JB Weld, some super glues, etc.). You can either use tape on the opposite side of where you want to glue, or you can glue in thin strips of plastic. I prefer to use an 'accelerator' when using super glues so it sets up instantly. Just be sure you don't glue your fingers together! ;D You will have to do some sanding, and possibly even some filling, and depending on where you need to sand, you will probably lose some detail. But that's not always a big thing. Just look around in this section or the other sections under the "Chop Shop" or the "Painter's Corner" on here. You will probably find some more detailed answers to your questions. Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

I have heard of using ground up mold silicone to make new molds. I assume you place in an area that won't touch the body you are molding and use it to take up space so you don't have to mix as much silicone.
Never tryed it seems like a lot of extra work to me, and not sure how much you actually save.

probably not worth the efort for HO scale. but 1/32 and larger, yes, ground up rubber can make nice filler once the master has been at least coated with fresh silicone. and certainly for filler in the "male" portion of a two part mold where detail is less scrutinized.

Was wondering if anyone has or knows someone who has any of the nitro coupe diecast cars for sale?
