Anyone buy anything from this guy? I bought two of these, and one doesn't run at all. It says in the description that they run poorly, but also says lots of fun slip sliding in the corners. It also states Brand new in package. I didn't expect anything lightning fast, but I did expect it to go down the track. For $32, I feel I've been ripped off. I contacted the seller and since he says no returns, I cant exchange them for different ones. I thought I would check on here and get some opinions before I filed a dispute with ebay. What do you think? Here's the listing: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400058874939&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_922/

Bummer, I have bought new cars that didn't run from Auto World. It ended up being that the metal tab on the bottom of the chassis was pulled away so the motor brush wasn't making contact with the armature. It's too bad the guy will not work with you or atleast have you send it to him to take a look. If you can't get it to run then I'd be more than happy to take a look at it for you if you want to send it to me. LMK

He did give me his number to try to get it working. This was his response:
hey nick, yes; i do say in the listing, there are very few useable parts on that chassis. i can give you some hop up hints if you call me, & some people do get them running ok. as i say in the listing, it is a nice body, but the chassis is nothing like the original ones. JL is now owned by ertl & they do not make the slot cars. best wishes. bob.
I guess I will give him a call tomorrow and see what happens. It just seems live a misleading ad to me, especially to a Newb, lol.

Hey Fox
When I bought my first T Jet once I rediscovered the hobby, it was a Road Race Replica limited edition 37 Ford Pro Stock with a Tuffones chassis for $55, they have sold since for up to $400. but that is another story. Being used to Inline chassis I thought it ran like crap. I called Phil the owner and he gave me a few pointers, and I ended up winning Top Eliminator twice in the local clubs Bracket racing events with that chassis.
That was an orignal 60s chassis. The new generation of Johnny Lighting, or their brothers the Auto World chassis, are not nearly as well built, and sometimes have some issues to overcome.
Slot Car Centrial has always been fair, and went over what I expected when I deal with him. I hope you give him a shot at fixing the issue, and as you get a bit more experance with these type of chassis, you will just blow past a small issue like this.
I also will give tips if you PM me on this site.

Thanks, I will call him in the morning. I will admit, I am quickly learning there is more to this hobby than opening up the package and running the cars at top speed. Thanks for the input.
