New to Nitroslots, want to say hello. I think you have a great thing going here. Not new to HO slots, started as kid in the sixtys. Afew months ago I found Nitroslots forum, and i need to say thanks!!! Never knew HO drag racing exshisted, as it does. I never liked the rules that go along with road racing. Like coming up with my own things (fast is never fast enough, personal problem I guess). Nitroslots has deffinatly inspired me. Have built 7 cars in the last 2 months, and have 2 in the works. Which bring me to my question. One of the two is an AW4gear. While working on narrowing the wheels and dropping the body, I put in poly mags and a mean green (waiting on arms from DC-HO). Took chasis appart again to lighten gears and top plate. Only what I saw stopped me dead. From the side of the chasis where the magnets sit there is a difference of .03 in height (rear more than front). This means the gear plate and the bottem of the chasis are not parellel, the holes in the same for arm are not perpendicular, the brushes have different tennsions. And I hate to think of the awfull woble designed into this drive train. Have thought about drilling through plate and chasis (without works) But this could make things alot worse, if I'm not lucky Any solutions to this? Other than engineers hamer (am deffinatly tempted) Appreciate any imput on this, thanks in advance!! PC

Other than engineers hamer (am deffinatly tempted) Appreciate any imput on this, thanks in advance!! PC Welcome!!! Number 1, the AW chassis WILL NOT hold up to polys and a hot motor.........yes, use the hammer, and get an Aurora chassis. You can add a post to the AW body to accomodate the chassis. Also, do the crown gear updgrade ( modified AFX 15 tooth ). Number 2, I build a better and less expensive motor than the ones you mentioned.....pm me if interested.... Jim Sgrig

I was going threw some stuff today and found what look to be original mean green arms. The problem with them is that the com plates are either scared or missing. Are these worth trying to get fixed and if so does anyone know of somebody that does this kind of work? Another thing I found was an original Aurora Hop Up kit with everything in it except the screwdriver and oil. Even the decal sheet is just about perfect, I`d be afraid to try and use them though, but there`s some neat old mfg logos on it.

I can rewind those motors for ya, providing the shafts are not boogered. They will be better than new!! Let me know....... Jim Sgrig
