The Door Slammer cars? Or the 4 Gear chassis too? Most of the custom Resin bodies have to have narrowed wheels?? I have standard sized foam silly's but they are too wide. So where do I get some trimmed thin and ready to mount? If I need to trim them myself, how do I do that and not wreck the silicon covering? Sam posted a picture of some of the coolest wheels i've ever seen, with Yellow Good Year letters on em and they looked amazing!!!! These were ready to mount of a 4 gear chassis, Hot!!! Please help cause I have a bunch of cars in the shop getting worked on and they ALL need good shoes. Thanks Joe

Joe, you're not getting much help here are you? I wish I knew where to send you. If I read Sam's post right he made his. I don't know how to make silly foams but that might be a good how-to for NitroSlots

There is a need for mass produced narrow silly foams mounted on decent wheels for HO drag racers. I've narrowed up some of Wizzards before by using a xacto knife and a dremel. If you try this make sure you use a new blade and try it out on a pair of junk tires before cutting into some new ones. Use light pressure when cutting so that you get a good clean cut on the silicone. One you get them narrowed up, use the method above on the link that Matt posted to seal the side walls back up. The good thing about learning how to silicone coat your own tires is that you can re-coat them if they ever start to peel. I have no tips that are any better than the ones in the link. Sluggo on ebay has black foam. If he doesn't have any listed, contact him and he can get you some. I used the BSRT wheel jig to make the holes in my wheels. The Goodyear decals are from pattos. Apply the decals when you still have two coats of silicone left to apply.

re sourcing foam for making your own tyres - look for Neoprene foam at any rubber products store Cut out rough donuts, glue to wheel and sand true. If not wide enough, glue 2 layers together with the glue from a bike puncture repair kit. Tyres grip well without silicone coating, even better with it *Note- some neoprene rubbers have a woven fabric type layer on one side, to remove simply lightly char it with a flame, then gently peel off
