You need to clean your track that includes the metal tabs the go together on the ends. Lots of ways to clean track (flat eraser, super fine sand paper, chemicals) go to HO Slot Car Racing he has a list of ways to clean track. I use a flat eraser and wipe it down, the old wide pink one. It use to come with AFX track back in the day. Hope this helps.

Are you saying that the car only runs on the terminal strip piece of track? If you have good clean connections at all of the joints, you should have power along the entire length of track. You do not need to tie both ends together making a loop. My strip is only fed in one place. If I have misunderstood your question, please explain further and we will try to help.

check to see if there is a broken metal tab too, that could also be the problem, oh and try switching out that first piece of track, it could also be the problem...

Had that problem with my auto world drag strip. I started using the sand paper to clean the rails they provided but thanks to a member here (sorry can't remember who but thanks) started using the pink eraser and has been fine since. I think I got a pack of 2 at walmart for $1. Hope you figure it out because it is fun.
