Hi Guys New guy here 2day, I always had Tyco and Afx basic tracks and cars when I was a kid, the other day Via Youtube I saw the HO races on there. My question is what do I need to get, to get a car setup from nothing....I mean the first chassis tires motor etc.? I can't believe these cars are that fast. I thought when I was a kid...(Long Long Ago) ours were fast but not like these...Thanx for listening... 2fast4u

Its all good. I am an old school guy, so I lean toward "pancake motors". That is, traditional "T-Jets" Modern day "model motoring" or Johhny lightning T Jets. One thing that makes them fun is they are rather easy to work on and modify, which is half the fun to me. If you want quick and easy tho, just check out any set from life like or tyco. They include track, cars and a power pack, are reasonable in price and will get you running while you are still learning all you want to know about this fun pastime. Lucky Bobs is a good source> I have also had very good luck on ebay, both from dealers and individuals, but that is up to you. If you hang around the Hobby, and watch ebay for instance, you will see certain names pop up time and again, and will; come to know them. Careful about "rare" models listed on ebay. Some truly are rare, some are not. I acbn pass on alist of the bigger HO 'parts' suppliers i know of.....off line is the board operators dont wish to show any favoritism. They would be merely the ones I have dealt with and what they have in the way of hot rod parts.
