I just bought my first HO Drag Track after 10 years of 1/24th drag racing. I would like to build a free standing track about 36" high, 1' wide, and 17' feet long with a 3' shut down. I would like to build the track in 3 sections so it could be moved if needed. The plan is to lay the NTB track on top of 3/4" MDF which is attached to 3/4" particle board and build the legs out of 2" x 4". My concern is the track being stable on 1' foot wide legs and the best way to attach the sections together, any ideas?

I've used the orange(at the time) foldable metal saw horese from Home Depot. Used then lenght-wise and wing-nutted them to the underside of the track. Very mobile, stable and clean

You make want to take a look at the Nitro Drag quarterly or Ho Racers Coast to Coast. I did an article on making a portable layout from the NTB set. Hope it can be of help.
