Wood and I have been discussing holding a proxy race here in Indiana. Well with the opening of the AW store so close, we thought about apporaching them about allowing us to hold it in their store. The classes would have to be AW chassis like the 4 gear door slammers and maybe Matt's street machine class. We are thinking a December race. We would like some imput and or blessing from the powers to be on this. We are waiting for your thoughts.
Thanks from the BlueWood Racing Team ;D ;D ;D

I see no reason (other than if they don't want to do it there) that it couldn't be done. At this point, in light of recent events, I think a proxy race at just about any track would be ok. Why couldn't we also do a Gasser class, only use newer AW chassis (Tjet style)? Granted, the original Tjet chassis may work better, but do we really need to 'split hairs' over THAT? And besides, the newer chassis are actually easier to get ahold of anyway. Also, are we talking strictly using newer AW 4 gear chassis for Doorslammer? Just wondering if I would need to build a new car, as most of my faster DS cars are original Aurora 4 gear chassis. It's no prob, I have several newer chassis too, just the older seem to work better and faster. Just some thoughts guys, as I know the subject of actually doing it there hasn't even been dicussed with them yet, so at this point you would just need to see what they will allow. ;D Ron (Bondo)

This sounds like a great idea. The classes sound great too. I was thinking maybe a stock 4gear chassis class. But the more I think about it the more sense this makes. They might see what can be done with a stock chassis car, with the muscle car class, and what can be done with a few mods with the door slammers. Might even pick up a few ideas on some different bodies to produce. I'd bet it's cheaper to get the licensing rights on a pro mod than a lot of the other pro cars.

Good idea on approaching store with something that could only help promote AW products. Only thought on the matter is the timming. Dec. might be alittle close, with hashing out the classes. And racers getting ready for event if they are not already prepared with something close that could work in a given class. Maybe early 2012 would be better?........But heck go for it and see what they say. ...........................PC

And Of course with the New 4 gear Top Fuel Cars coming out in Nov/Dec..I would love to see a stock class with those, with like one mod, Braids on the pickups which would add just a little Punch to them. and of course painting the body in your colors.
