2011 NTRA WORLD FINALS AWARDS AND PRIZES Before we close the book on the 2011 NTRA World Finals, there are a couple of important items to check off the list: tech inspection and the award ceremony. The Lions tech crew is a hard-nosed bunch, and nobody is officially a winner until Big Bill says they're legal. So as soon as the last car went down the track, Bill and boys arranged a party at the teardown barn. Two racers were invited: Wood and 440gtx. "Y'all get busy and pull them motors out," Bill suggested. "The sooner we get this done, the sooner we get to break out the beer." That sounded like a good idea to everyone. Wood's Stock Eliminator-winning AMX was first to undergo Big Bill's scrutiny. The rules are restrictive in Stock, and Bill's boys went by the book. Chassis: Aurora 4, OK Gearplate: Aurora 2, OK Armature: Aurora red wire, 16.2/16.3/16.3 ohms at 72 degrees, no visible balancing, OK Gears: Stock Aurora, OK Magnets: Aurora green and white, non-ferrous shims, OK Wheels: Stock Aurora, OK Rear tires: .400" dia. X .080" wide, OK "Wood, you bolt that Rambler back together and fetch a beer out of the cooler," said Big Bill. "440gtx, get yer Willys in that barn now, buddy." 440gtx's Ratt Rod Eliminator also got a through going over by the tech crew: Chassis: JL, OK Gearplate: JL, OK Armature: JL 3-lam, 14.9/14.9/15.0 ohms at 74 degrees, OK Gears: JL plastic, OK Magnets: JL blue and white, non-ferrous shims, OK Rear Tires: .450" dia. X .190" wide, OK Pickups: Braids OK, no shunts Big Bill speaks: "You Ohio Mafia guys ain't so bad after all. Tell that Tony the Enforcer he can put away the heater now and grab a cold one for himself." And with that, the results of the 2011 NTRA World Finals are official.

2011 NTRA WORLD FINALS AWARDS AND PRIZES Ladies and Gentlemen, the management and staff of Lions Drag Strip are proud to present your 2011 NTRA World Finals champions. From Elkhart, Indiana, Wood is your Stock Eliminator winner. His red-white-and-blue AMX was the No. 1 qualifier, and ran Low ET and Top Speed in every round of eliminations. After a dominating performance in the Manufacturers Funny Car Championship in July, Wood showed that he also knows how to make a Stocker run. 440gtx is no stranger to the Lions Drag Strip winner's circle. Last year the racer from Urbana, Ohio, swept the Stock, Gasser, and Nostalgia Funny Car titles at the NTRA World Finals. He swept Nostaglia Pro Stock at Lions on the Fourth of July. This year at the Finals, the Dodge Father lost a close race in the Stock Eliminator final, but he dominated Ratt Rod Eliminator and took the King of the Street crown in two straight over his rival Wood. Congratulations, racers. You definitely earned your trophies!

2011 NTRA WORLD FINALS AWARDS AND PRIZES But wait, there's more! It's time to hand out the goodies. Thanks to the generosity of the NTRA's sponsors and supporters, we've got prizes for everyone who participated in the NTRA World Finals at Lions Drag Strip. All prizes will be awarded in a random draw. Eagle Racing provided a pair of custom-cast resin bodies, a slick Pro Mod Willys and a trick rear-engined dragster. You saw Eagle Racing's gorgeous Nostalgia Dragster and Cadillac Hearse in match race action this weekend at Beach. Check out Eagle Racing's website for dozens of other custom-made bodies for drag racing, road racing, and the street scene: mysite.verizon.net/res7i03c/eagleracing/Ninjatek is awarding a pair of QuikGarage custom dioramas complete with tool packs and two grandstand backgrounds. Just imagine how cool your slot car is gonna look with these displays! Hairy Canary is a great friend of NTRA racing, and he went all-out this year to support the sport. First up is a slick '69 Camaro T-jet body and a fine Fiat Altered. Both come with a complete assortment of accessories; the Altered includes a driver figure, supercharged engine, roll cage, and other detailing items. How about a pair of Nostalgia Funny Car shells from Hairy Canary? These include windshields, wheelie bars, superchargers and headers. Pro Mod and Pro Stock racers, Hairy has you covered with these slick late-model bodies. They include an assortment of hood scoop styles, windshields, and wheelie bars. Hairy also models modern Funny Cars, like this slick ride. Thanks, Rick, for your generous support for the NTRA!

Transporter rolled in safe and sound. The driver was really tired of driving in the rain but he'll get over it. Thanks for the NF/C arrow body. I'd sure like to find some Don Prudhomme decals for it. Thanks again Rick and Rick.

Hauler rolled in today. Guido and Jose (my drivers) musta stopped off somewhere! All I know is...they can't keep from smiling! And, they AIN'T talkin'! ;D Anyway, thanks to Eagle Racing (and Rick for drawing my name..lol) for the VERY cool rear engined wedge rail body! Been wanting to see if I could actually make one like this from sheet styrene, but figured it would come out lookin' like 'doo-doo'! LOL! Now, I don't have to! ;D Thanks for a great race, looking forward to 2012! Ron (Bondo)
