Gear lash, thats what Sgrig's, called it. Movment of crown gear away from drive gear caused failed pass on second attempt at Jim's, ET event in PA. Is this something common when using lower ohm arm and polys? I have shims in .005 and .010 for inline arms, would these work for crown gear spacer? What size shims are being used and what is being used for shims? tia ................. PC

Yes, very critical adjustment when it comes to pinion and crown! I would stack the 005's, or a oo7 & 005. Sometimes just a 007 will do. I push the axle through the gear just enough to make the axle hole, this way you can pull the axle out of the hole enough to install shims as needed. Add shim, install gear plate, check lash, repeat as needed. And yes, very inportant when running hot motors with magnets!!
