After racing 1/24th scale Drag Cars for many years I can't believe that trying to find tires for HO can be so difficult. It seems that the majority of tires and rims for sale do not list what size they are.
I have purchased several different types of silicon tires and rims and I am getting frustrated because you never know what size the final dimensions of the tire is going to be after mounting them on several different rims. Dose any manufacture actually state the final size of the slip on tire after mounting to different rims?
I have also tried to true the silicon tires using a Dremel Tool and nail file all it does is chew up the silicon. Can you true these tires or do you need to just get lucky and find the right combo of rim and tire to get the desired final size?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There is a dealer that has a chart for some of the wheel/tire combos with sizes. I think it is Ho Slot Car Racing his link is as follows: www.hoslotcarracing.com/What size are you looking for and what is it going on?

Good luck finding tires that size. Keep us posted. Had a time trying to find that size last NTRA season. Ended up sanding to size, took longer than I thought it would. Tried dremel and rpm just expanded then flung tire. But sanding while on chassis will work. Don't let car get to hot if you do this. Only tires I know of that are sized are tire/wheel combos, silly foams. Can't use in N/PS, tires have to be slip-on. Width is also a problem. Narrow tires are less in weight and exert the same pressure on track with less footprint than a wider tire. N/PS use traction magnets, so something to think about. ..........PC

That has been my NP/S setup from the beginning. I always use, "Tuff One Black Silicone Tires (pr) S101" from Jag hobbies. The .250" wheels are pretty easy to find. The RRR wheels are .250". Hope this helps Matt

Thank you, thank you, thank you Matt, this has been driving me nuts. I have tried to true three pair of some Jel Claws and they either ripped or looks like they hand air bubbles in the silicon. I will definitely check out Jag Hobbies, again thanks for your help.

Dragfool, saw you mention Jel Claws. Have never used them, what do you think of them. Aside from truing that is. Problems I had with dremel were due to rpm. Did you do the claws with dremel? ..............PC

Hey pceng, I like the tires and they perform really good on stock stuff, I haven't used them on anything real fast yet (still building those cars). Yes I did use a dremel at the lowest speed and even that seemed to fast, I also used the finest grit nail file I could find. two sets did true up real nice but the others had rips and air bubbles. I will still use the Jel Claws but only when I need to do no to light truing. I hope this helps.

Does anyone true slip on silicons? I have different brands and some bounce the car down the track. Traction magnets cure the problem. But not all class's allow traction magnets. BTW axles are straight and rims are trued.

That is a royal pain to do. I don't know anybody that likes doing that. If everything is true have you checked how true your chassis is? What type chassis is this setup going into?
