Another question. I noticed that alot of the Gasser class cars in the race last nite, were running 4 traction mags. I always thought that less would be better. Do I have this wrong? Keith

Keith The most common setup in Gasser is a pair of traction magnets. These cars really do need some downforce on 18 volts to hook up. But you are correct -- you want to use the least amount of downforce that will provide traction without bogging down the motor. It's a delicate balancing act between magnet strength and tire diameter, along with magnet placement, foam density, wheelie bar setup, engine power, voltage, rail height, and a bunch of other variables. There's really no substitute for a lot of testing when it comes to sorting out a Gasser. Good luck, Rick V.
