Metallic is not easy. You need very thin misting coats and keep rotating and moving it around as to not have any heavy painted areas let the flakes run the settle on the edges.
Stripping is a different story. Plastic or resin? An injection molded type of body can be dipped into your preferred strippers. Some use pine-sol and some use paint strippers. This subject alone will spur you many many different answers.
If it's resin, you can't soak it. At least i'm pretty sure you can't. If I mess up a resin, I would use paint thinner sparringly on a soft cloth right away, not letting too much thinner actually stay on the resin for more than a second or two. Now if you didn't get it when it's still wet, maybe let it cure then wet sand it. 1000 is my preference. Pics??

The body is one of the new A/w 4 gear Cuda graffiti cars. Didn't like the paint etc. The car was dry so I sanded it to the bare bones and went with a new color. (not metallic.) This time it went on pretty good. When dry I'll put the details and decals on and clear coat it. If I like what I see, I'll post some pics later this week. This is one of the cars that I will be running in the Winter Nationals.

Joe is right espisally the newer Testers Metalic laquors.
Back in the day the Dog had an opperintunity to hear one of the best rattle can painters He has erer seen give a seminar on the art of rattle can painting. This guy could do flame multi layer paint jobs that would stand up to anyones. All with the simple rattle can.
I won't try to give the whole speech, but here are a few tips the Dog uses every paint job.....
I use hot water from the tap, in a shallow pan to preheat the spray can. this atomizes the paint into smaller particals for a finer finish. PLEASE DON"T PUT A CAN OF PAINT ON AN OVEN ! If you can stand the water temp. in a shower, it probably won't blow up the can !
Next tip use quick stroks about 12 to 16 inches away...I know it is hard to resist slaping on a heavy coat, but the resualt will be better if you just feather it on in 3 or 4 thin coats.
It is just human nature to pick up and play with a new perfict paint job to soon....don't give in, I try to put a freshly painted body somewhere where it is level, than go away for the evening.
Oh one more point...I usally start a paint job by spraying the bottom/inside of the car first. You don't need perfection here, but you will want the part of the wheel wells you can see to have good color when the body is finnished.
There are probably a bunch more things to learn but this is a start.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll put them to good use. The detail and decals went on without a hitch. I'll clear it Monday.

NICE! I'm looking forward to seeing that car in person. Those Carfitti's take well to a new paint job!
