I have the AW drag strip . It's a big step from what I had last year but needs upgraded .
The single track is way too narrow . I'd like to lay two tracks side by side and use the two outer lanes . Then I could blank out the inside two lanes and add blanks at the curbs as well .
I need to know if any of you more electronically inclined thinsk the AW Christmas Tree would be able to be made to work ?
Thx Gonzo

Hey Gonzo, I did the same thing on my strip, but I didn't use the AW track. I'm using Lifelike track and am using a 'modified' version of the Slot Dragon timing system (it's linlked at the bottom of the home page here). I would think that it would be easy to do with the AW setup, as long as it's only wires connecting the sensors. All you would need to do is cut and add length to the wiring. And, unless you have two of the 'starting line' pieces of track, you would need to drill out the other piece(s) of track for the sensors. BUT, since I haven't taken my AW setup apart, I really dont know what it looks like. Anyone else wanna help out here? Ron (Bondo)

The sensors are simple to remove. There is a piece of black plastic that hides them under the start and finish lines. It is hot glued in place, use a knife or small screwdriver to pop it off. The sensors and wires are also hot glued in. The sensors only work with the current flowing in one direction so make sure you keep the colored wires straight.
For small wire you can cut open a computer network cable or phone cord.
One word of caution about the starting line "bridge." The battery wires run up and over the top. So to move the Christmas tree would involve some planning.

I have the AW Track and i took it all apart. Make sure you do your homework before you do this. I haven't had time to mess with my track. When you start taking it apart, Make sure you have paper, pen handy. YOU WILL NEED IT.

i took my AW apart and rewired it. Yes you will need pen and paper to write down the color of wires. It will take time to do all this. Just watch what you are doing, You should be fine.
For the eyes in the AW track make sure you dont have them switched around. If you do the eyes will not work. When you take the eyes out of the AW track do one at a time
For the tree Just becareful when you do this the wires will be short and there is like 8-10 wires to work with. I relocated the tree like a real one
I left the batt pack that came with the AW set.
After i got done with everything i tested it and worked like a charm I have pics of what i did on the form. I think you can do a search for BULL RUN
