Muscle Car/Street Class is new to me, may be to others. Know this is well ahead of scheduled race. But looking over rules some questions came up. Not sure if it is mentioned (forgot to look), what is the min. ohms allowed ? Have two bodies, a 55' Chevy, and a Nomad. Saw no mention of years, would these two bodies qualify ? Recently got the two (complete cars), each of which has different pick-up shoes (flat vs. stepped). Are either shoe accepted for race ? And how much reshaping is accepted ? Not sure where I got them, but have a dozen pair of magnets this size. Some slight size difference, but all fit. Can these be mixed and matched as long as ceramic ? Is lightening of the chassis or body allowed ? Any opinions on the p/u shoes ? Never saw flat ones before. The stepped ones look just like the 4g.

not sure if this should be under "Newbie moments", didn't want to mess with thread.

From what I understand from the rules it has to be bone stock just like off the self right out of the box. A nomad body can be ran thats what Im running. Magnets have to be the stock ones. Picks up have to be stock. No mods to chassis or body. Check here www.ninjatekprojects.com/pdf/NTRAraceguide.pdfSays in there on page 6 under Street class quick glace rules. I hope it helps. I also have the flat and step pick ups on my cars.

The early johnny lightning chassis came with the flat shoes. They are legal. On the armature, any 3 lam JL/AW armatures allowed. I have never seen one below 14.3 ohms. Both the 55 and the nomad are fine. No lightening or lowering is allowed.

Peter, you should probably just send them to me, wouldn't want you to get in any trouble.

Thanks for the imput guys, not familiar with these cars. So I'm guessing 14 is the minimum allowed on the arms. Had an AW 14.0 ea., went up in smoke not long ago. Closest now is 14.4, but haven't checked new cars yet. The flat pick-ups seem as if with the right arc near hook a good contact patch could be had.
Matt, are you going to get any racing in, maybe later in the year ? Hope all is well.
Tom, been in enough trouble past few years. HO seems to be the only things with wheels that don't get me in trouble.

I never judge an arm with a meter alone. The orange roadrunner that I run in stock has a 17. something in it. I've been burnt out on the drag racing here lately. I have set up a new road course and started playing with it though. It's a 4 lane about 31' long. I just love running the old magna-tractions. If I get ambitious, I'll prep a couple cars and send them in sometime. Matt
