Hey Guys, I have been a member of this site for a short while and cannot find info. on the classes and what is allowed in them (body styles, motors, magnets, tires etc...) If someone can point me in the right direction or come up with a spreadsheet that would be awesome. I am currently in Afghanistan and when I return home I would like to build some cars to compete against you all and perhaps win a few races. I live in MI. and have the AW John Force strip and have a blast with it. Thanks, Jeff

I live in MI. and have the AW John Force strip and have a blast with it. Thanks, Jeff Jeff, Welcome to Nitroslots! First, if you are in Afghanistan on military tour, thank you for your service. Now for rules, there are two types of rule styles used for NTRA events. The original rules which I refer to as the "Legacy Rules" are the rules created at the formation of the group. They are a little wordy and some find them confusing. I personally think they are quite thorough and precise. A newer style of rules are packaged in grid form. Most find these to be more palatable. Anyway Legacy Rules can be found at this link: nitroslots.com/index.cgi?board=skrThe threads Sportsman Classes and Competition Classes contain most information on the TJet classes run here. Here is a link to a rules chart, the precursor that led to the 'grid form rules': www.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/Quick%20Glance%20Class%20Specs.pdfContains most info for many of the classes, not as detailed as Legacy Rules, but enough to keep you legal. Grid Form Rules, their initial locations are shattered about the site and posted usually along with an event entry list. These may undergo adjustment from race to race. For the type cars you have this grid is best to follow. Note: these are new classes fine tuning is required. Today a thread will be opened to discuss any refinements needed and should be finalized in a few days. www.ninjatekprojects.com/pdf/4g_2012_ClassRules.pdfShould you have more questions be sure to post them on the site. Click the bigin NYRA banner and click the links in it it has everything needed. Pretty sure he meant 'NTRA banner' located at top of page. The directory will have links to rules for specific classes scheduled to run this year.

Secondly as Ninja stated the rules can be confusing. My advice to you is focus on the upcoming race and ask for detailed rules if you want to compete in the event. Rather than building cars for a past event.

Hey Jeff, Like Nosub said, concentrating on upcoming race is easiest way to start off. Check schedule for classes to be run on given dates.
Hope you'll be joining us soon.............be well, Peter

That and I am still learning on what I want in a car and how to build it. I just wanna go really fast ;D

When I first joined NitroSlots I built cars for the classes I wanted to compete in. But one of these classes has not be run and the other has a race scheduled for the end of this season. Not all classes are run at every event so looking at scheduled events will tell you what classes are to be run and when. Without a time frame it's hard to say where to start. All the classes we'll be running this year are based on the t-jet and 4-gear cars. With different levels of mods allowed. Ops, forgot we have an X-traction race this year.
hope this helps......PC

That and I am still learning on what I want in a car and how to build it. I just wanna go really fast ;D You do not mention your skill level or experience with tuning slot cars. So this reply is for anyone with zero to very little experience. For you to begin to consider entry into next event, the Summer National. At a minimum you will need to be able to remove and replace armature (or at least be willing to attempt it). Secondly, soldering skills or someone you know that can solder will be helpful. If these task are beyond your skill level, or you just do not want to do these things, this may not be the race for you. If you have never done these things but feel it is something you can accomplish, by all means, dive in. The race following Summer Nationals is the King of the Streets event. This is a race that does not require advance experience. Basically it is a stock AW/JL X- Traction chassis with basic tune-up tips applied. This would be an good start point for beginners or someone with minimum experience. To get started you first will need a AW/JL X-Traction chassis. Once you have that you tune up the chassis using basic tune-up methods. See these links for basic tune-up techniques. These two articles describe basic tune-up tips that are used on most pancake type chassis. Some of the tips do not apply to all classes. For instance no balancing is allowed for the Muscle Car/ Street Class. See rules for Street Class to sure tune-up methods apply to the class. www.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/Tuning%20the%20Pancake%20Pt%201.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/Tuning%20the%20Pancake%20Pt%202.pdfOther tips can be found in issues of NTRA Quartely. www.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol1_1.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol1_2.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol1_3.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol1_4.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol2_1.pdfwww.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAQuarterlyVol2_2.pdfKeep your questions coming, there are very knowledgeable people on this forum who are always willing to help.
