I have seen " wet comm " referenced several times in the forums. Not sure what that is. Can somebody help me out?

If "tjetsgrig" catches this perhaps he can be more specific on materials used. Only have one wet-com that Sgrig, did tuning car at his E.T. comp. Brushes are replaced with stretched springs packed with a soft wire (think silver braided). Hole is drilled between brushes so a drop of oil can be applied to commutator before runing.

Yep, silver shunt wire stuffed into stretched pu shoe springs. They need to be lubricated or comm damage will occur. For use with drag racing only! A shot of oil before each run. I have had alot of success with this setup!!

Thanks Peter and Jim for the quick response. That's what I needed to know. I had done some research before posting, but wasn't able to find anything definitive. I will try my hand at it sometime soon.
