Well the B Main got off to a later start than expected, the crew was hungry, so they all took a diner break. After the break the cars were ready to go. First up to the line is 79 malibu and his Nomad and jimrussell and his Red, White and Blue Challenger. This race is a preliminary qualifier for the 16th position in the B Main Ladder. The lights drop and jimrussell is a hair fast with the gas and red lights with a .499 light. 79 malibu cruises to the win with a 1.829 et.
With that preliminary race out of the way we now have our top 16 cars for the B Main. We are ready for the first round of single eliminations for the B Main Crown. Rolling up to the line is nosubfor3 and his sweet looking Firebird. Nosubfor3 will be facing ninjatek and his silver Grand National. The lights drop and it's nosubfor3 wire to wire with a 1.496 et to ninjatek's 1.676 et.
Next up in round 1 is sukafish and his blue camaro. He will face tazman052186 and his green Nomad. The lights are up, the car's rpm's are revving and they both launch side by side. They are half track and there's a burst of flames from the rear end of the Nomad and sukafish leaves tazman in the dust. Sukafish finishes with a 1.263 et with tazman coasting across the line with a 1.891 et.
Wazzer and his copper corvette will take on eddiebee and his red Charger in the third race of round one. They pull to the lights and they are off. Eddiebee looks like a bolt of lightning coming off the line and wazzer is left behind. Eddiebee crossed the finish line with a blistering 1.330 et to wazzer's 1.788 et.
The fourth race of round one will pit mattsheldon and his blue Buick against supercoop's green Camaro. The cars pull up to the line, the lights drop down on the Christmas Tree and supercoop has the advantage. This is a great race as the two cars are back and forth down the track with supercoop just edging out mattsheldon at the finish. Supercoop finished with a 1.556 to mattsheldon's 1.614.
Next up is slotfather and his green Challenger. He will be facing madkat's purple Camaro. They come up to the line and madkat has his game face on. With a quick snarl from madkat the light goes green and madkat jumps out in front. Slotfather has had enough of this and hits the NOS and pulls away. Slotfather crossed the finish line with a 1.529 to madkat's 2.126.
In the next to last last race of round one jjwallace will pit his black Corvette against tgm2054's orange Challenger. The cars are playing a little staging game but finally both cars are staged. Both cars leave in a dead heat but watch out ... tgm2054's Challenger is starting to get loose. Oh no ... tgm2054's Challenger crossed over the center line just behind jjwallace's vette and ends up in the grass. That was a close one. Jjwallace makes it to the finish line and runs a 1.305 to a DQ by tgm2054.
In the final race of round one we have number one qualifier eageleracing and his red 55 Chevy against preliminary winner 79 malibu and his Nomad. The cars come to the line, the lights drop, and it's eageleracing wire to wire running a 1.201 to 79 malibu's 1.731.
That's the end of round one and after a short break we will be back with round 2.
Starting the Quarter finals is number one qualifier eageleracing with his red 55 Chevy. He will be matched up to nosubfor3's white Firebird. The cars come to the line, the final stage lights go yellow, and the lights drop. The Firebird gets the hole shot against the Chevy. Just as the Chevy is getting past the Firebird eageleracing breaks loose and clips the Firebird in the quarterpanel. Nosubfor3 is sent into a tail spin just at the finish line and eageleracing crossed the finish line. The judges are quick to DQ eageleracing for crossing the centerline and nosubfor 3 is declared the winner. Ther are no et's for this race because of the accident and DQ.
The Clean-up Crew has the carnige cleaned up so it's time for the second race of the Quarter Finals. Up to the line comes sukafish and his Camaro. He'll face off against eddiebee and his mean Charger. The cars are staged and the lights drop. Sukafish has the advantage and holds on to the finishline. Sukafish runs a 1.296 to eddiebee's close 1.306.
Coming to the line in the third race of the Quarter Finals is sjracer and his tribute to the Police and suppercoop's green Camaro. Supercoop is going to have his hands full in this race. The cars stage and sjracer gets the hole shot and holds on for the win with a 1.252 et to supercoop's 1.546 et. I guess supercoop didn't want to take a chance on getting a speeding ticket.
In the last race of round two we have slotfather and his Challenger up against jjwallace's Corvette. The vette has been looking strong through these races and slotfather could have his hands full in this race. They come to the line and jjwallace bolts out of the stagging area like he's on fire. Slotfather has no chance in this race. Jjwallace goes wire to wire winning with a 1.227 et to slotfather's 1.411 et.
First round of the semi-finals we have nosubfor3 Firebird against sukafish's Camaro. The cars roll up to the lights and stage. Sukafish drops the hammer and takes the hole shot and carries the wind to the finish line with a 1.260 et against nosubfor3's 1.557. Nosubfor3's accident in the last round must have knocked the car a little out of sorts.
The last race of the semi-finals we have sjracer and his infamous Police Car versus jjwallace and his black corvette. The cars are staged, the lights come down, and sjracer's Police car has the advantage at the lights. Halfway down the track they are neck and neck but the police car has too much top end for the Corvette. Sjracer finishes with 1.239 to jjwallace's 1.365.
The finals of the B Main are set and ready to run! First up to the line is sukafish and his Camaro. Looks like sjracer is playing a little bit of mind games by taking a while to get his police car staged. Finally, both cars are staged, the lights come down, and the police car takes the hole shot. Halfway down the track the cars are neck and neck, but once again, that Dam Cop Car has too much top end. Sjracer takes the win in the B Main final with a 1.161 et to sukafish's 1.270.
That's it for racing this evening at Desert Run Raceway! A special THANKS to our proxy drivers for today. Without them, this race wouldn't be possible. So, let's give these guys a standing ovation as they head home to warm beds and sweet dreams!
