Alrighty Racers lets get this race started.
Up to the line in the first pre-elimination qualifier is 79 Malibu with his orange Corvette and Madkat's purple Camaro. The lights come down, Madkat has the jump at the light while Malibu’s corvette is squirely off the line. Madkat holds the slight advantage all the way down to the finish line finishing with a 1.538 et at 8.97 mph to malibu’s 1.890 et at 7.10 mph.
Up to the line for the 2nd preliminary Qualifier is mattsheldon and his silver Buick along side of mattsheldon is tazman052186 with his Black Grand National. Both cars are staged and the lights go green. Mattsheldon gets the hole shot on tazman and hold the lead to the finishline. Mattsheldon runs a 1.510 to tazmans 1.752.
In the final preliminary qualifier Wazzer lines up his red corvette against kbuck's gold GTX. The lights go green and wazzer gets the hole shot and goes wire to wire for the win. Wazzer runs a 1.388 et to kbuck's 1.638 et.
So, wazzer, mattsheldon, madkat all advance to the Sweet 16 single elimination ladder bracket. We wish them the best of luck.
1st up in the 1st round is slotfather with his General Lee and Camel with his Javlin. Looks like slotfather is going to have his hands full with this race. Both cars are staged and General Lee gets a little hole shot. The cars are neck and neck down the track but the javlin falls way off at the finish and slotfather takes the win. Slotfather ends up with a 1.6250 et to camel's 2.2120.
Next pair to come to the line is Jimrussell with his Challenger and Ninjateck with his charger. Ninja looks to be having some difficulty staging his car but he finally gets it in there. The lights come down and jimrussell just screams down the track leaving ninjatek in his dust. Jimrussell takes the win with a 1.206 et to ninjatek's 1.518 et.
Next up eddiebee brings his challenger to the line to race against pceng's green nomad. The boys get their cars staged and pceng gets the hole shot but suddently falls way back and eddiebee screams by him for the win. Eddiebee wins with a 1.217 et to pceng's 1.819 et. Definitely a lot slower than yesterday.
Sjracer lines up his mean looking mean corvette. Supercoop pulls in next to sjracer with his camaro. Both cars do some hard burn outs and get staged. The lights come down and sjracer has the hole shot and the advantage all the way down to the finish line, but wait ...... sjracer loses control right at the end and runs head on into the timing stand. I hope the driver's able to walk away from that one. Supercoop backs down a little bit but crosses the finish line with a 1.383 et.
Next up we have sukafish and his camaro against wazzer and his corvette. Wazzer was one of the preliminary qualifier winners qualifying for the 14th spot on the main ladder. Both cars are staged, the lights go green, and sukafish gets a hell of a hole shot and holds the lead to the end. Sukafish finishes with a 1.194 et to wazzer's 1.323 et. Faster than his prelim et.
Staging up now we have nosubfor3 with his GTX and he will be racing tgm2054 with his challenger. Both of these boys were pretty close in yesterday's qualifying, so this should be a good race. Both cars are staged, the lights come down on the Christmas tree, and tgm2054 pulls out first. He holds the lead to about half track, but nosubfor3 is hot on his tail and passes him up just before the finish. Nosubfor3 finished up with a 1.423 et to tgm2054's 1.553 et.
Next up is our #1 qualifier eagleracing with his 55 chevy. Eagle had the fastest qualifying time yesterday of 1.052. Matching up with eagle today is madkat who advanced from the preliminary qualifiers earlier this morning. Both cars are staged, the lights are up, and they go green! Eagle takes a huge hole shot over madkat and walks away with the win running a 1.158 et to madkat's 1.891.
In the final race of the 1st round we have our 2nd place qualifier from yesterday, jjwallace with his camaro, against mattsheldon and his buick. Matt's going to have to be quick on this one if he wants to get by jj. The lights go green and jj gets the hole shot and holds on for the win. Jjwallace finishes with a 1.116 et, just .003 slower than yesterday to mattsheldon's 1.444 et which is an improvement from yesterday.
