Started earlier this year, am finally making some progress. AW track with return lane on 1/2 MDF, portable 8' sections. This shows 4 sections for total of 32 feet, but since then I have discarded one section. Now it's 24 ft. total, with 16' 3" timed, and 7' of shut down. If you're wondering about the two power sections, there is a 3" dead section after the finish line with no rails, so drag strip has power to each lane, return road has separate shared wall wart. End detail, two 1/4 bolts, four inches long hold sections together. Got some grass growing here too. This shot shows track attachment to MDF. Not sure if I have ever seen or heard of anyone doing it this way. Small holes are drilled in ribs underneath track, a 4" piece of .22 gauge wire is inserted, a knot is tied so it won't pull through the rib. Corresponding holes are drilled through MDF, wires are feed through, bent and twisted together under the MDF. You can see where I snapped a blue chalk line to line track sections up with. Has been working great so far.

Looks good! You built yours just about the same way I did mine. I like the way you anchored you track down. Much better than mine, I used screws.

Looks GREAT! And I , much like a lot of others here, like the anchoring method too! Gonna have to seriously try to use that idea! Ron (Bondo)
