HELP WITH ARMATURES - Does anybody have a reliable source for Mean Green Armatures? I have bought so many of these from different people and it seems that all get is the left over junk ones. I’ve tried to contact a couple of different Armature Specialist that I found on the internet and they either are out of business or no longer working with armatures, most of the web sites are out dated and when I try to contact them I don’t receive any contact back. So if you have any possible leads please let me know. Sorry I can't help with mean greens but if your looking for an arm for this class I would contact www.nitroslots.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=tjetsgrig. He winds great arms for drag racing, well let me rephrase that, he winds great arms period. If you already knew that I would suggest hitting some slot car shows and try to find some packaged mean greens from American Line. They usually have 6 arms to a pack and right now price of mean greens is about $5 per arm.

Hey guy's, was thinking like Ninjatek, of doing conversion of AW to front engine. Do we have an established wheel base for the FED's ? Or perhaps just a ballpark number ? This might be stretching things but ......... was thinking of trying a build out of styrene (wasn't thinking of race at time), if I did this and added weight to match others would that fly ? I understand reasoning behind hard or resin, just trying to get something together to race at a NO budget time of year for me. tia .......... PC

If you want to convert one to front engine knock yourself out. I believe ninjatek and slotfather are doing that.

Hey guy's, was thinking like Ninjatek, of doing conversion of AW to front engine. . . . just trying to get something together to race at a NO budget time of year for me. For a budget build, AW conversion is the way to go. To build the way I did, all you will need to add to a stock AW TF dragster is a small peice of styrene to enclose the driver. Here is what I have come up with. This is what can be done with just the available stock TF parts. Remove driver, lower windsheild to make engine compartment, put engine where driver was, enclose driver at nwe location. To finish this up I will be making an engine swap, adding some silli- foam tires from eagleracing, and throwing on some SKR front spoke wheels. To be a little bit competitive I will dropping in a 3.2 ohm arm. Oh yeah, and some decals. Here is how the enclosure for the driver is made from four small peices of styrene. i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/ninjatek/drivers_coffin_zps46b27d1a.jpgIf the front wheels are too tall I may have to stick with the stock front wheels. If I have time I will use an alternative front suspension to mount spoke wheels if too tall. i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/ninjatek/alt_frt_suspension_zps6588a947.jpgDo we have an established wheel base for the FED's ? Or perhaps just a ballpark number ? I do not believe there is a wheel base limitation in place. Eagleracing will chime in if there is. This might be stretching things but ......... was thinking of trying a build out of styrene (wasn't thinking of race at time), if I did this and added weight to match others would that fly ? I understand reasoning behind hard or resin, . . . tia .......... PC Don't think that will fly for this race, but here is a tutorial of one way that it is done . This is a rear engine dragster, but should be easily adapted to front engine. www.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/HO%20Rail%20Dragster.pdf

That is cool. You should do a tutorial of how you did everything. Gee! I thought I did. I didn't bother to record any of the steps because I did not know how it was going to turn out. Next build I do I will be sure to record the steps.

Ninja
The Dog feels your pain... as someone that does customs a bunch I find it hard to stop the creative process long enough to take photos....
It always starts out like any other day....just going to work on some slot car bodys.....than an idea hits....a simple idea.....I start to work....I cut things...I glue things....at some point I move to the Laboritory....hook up the leads and wait for the thunder storm....
IT's ALIVE !
Nice job on the FED great idea !

Are there any other races planned this year to run this class? I tried to finish mine in time for Texas but still waiting on parts.
