The rules for the Texas Outlaw Unlimited are as follows: 1. Sling Shot Dragster Body plastic or resin (front engine exposed) 2. 4Gear Chassis 3. Tires Must Be Black 4. Motors, Magnets, etc. as long as it fits in a 4Gear chassis it's up to you. 5. 26 Volts on the track for this race. Where to get body's Hairy Canary, Lone Star Racing, Eagle Racing These are the only three resin makers I know that make these type bodies. There may be more but I do not know who they are. This is an example of EAGLE RACING Sling Shot Dragster finished out. Hairy Canary and Lone Star Racing please feel free to paste your bodies in this thread to show racers what is available.

As far as I know, the only source for the spokes (which is where mine came from) is the 1/64 scale Johnny Lightning 23 T-bucket diecast. They made these as a complete car, in a whole lot of different paint schemes and packaging, and as a 'customizing kit'. Mine are the only set I had, from my diecast customizing days, it was one of the kits. They don't make them anymore, but they can still be found on Ebay, or sometimes at local flea markets. Most of the time the cars sell for close to 10 bux on the 'Bay, but I have seen some good deals go for 5 bux or so, and if you're lucky enuff to find them at flea markets, you might even get a few REAL cheap! (and by the way, they already have the o-rings on them for tires!) I've actually been saving mine for the 'perfect' car to use them on, and this was definitely it! Ron (Bondo)

Thanks Ron. They are looking good on you and Sam's FEDs. I'm converting an AW Top Fuel into a FED. Thought they might work on mine. But doesn't sound as if they are easy to come by.

Actually Ninja, last time I looked there were quite a few on there. IF you wanna spend that much cash..lol. The 'lower priced' ones were pretty slim. There is also another option, but will still cost about 5 bucks or so. On the Hot Wheels Drag Racing Legends series cars, they use a 'spoke' wheel on the front of the Bantam altered. It's not the 'bicycle' type spokes like mine, but they still look pretty good, and there are more of those around than the ones I used. Actually, these are more like the ones Sam has on his. They are a little tricky to get off, as the axle is pressed on both ends (like all HW cars). If you can cut the axles without taking the car apart it's easy. All you have to do then is install an axle to use in the slot chassis. You may have to do some drilling, I haven't looked at those wheels in quite a while. If you can't cut the axle because the wheels are too close to the chassis you'll need to drill out the 'rivets' on the chassis to get the car apart. The easiest way, drill first in the center with a 3/32 drill bit, go in a little ways, then use an 11/64 bit (or whatever size will work the best) to drill off the 'ring' that's left on there. The chassis should pop apart easy then. Or, for those if you that don't wanna do it, if you can find the cars you want to take apart just get the cars and send them to me and I'll do it. This goes for any Nitroslot member. Just cover the shipping to and from and I'll be more than happy to do this for you guys. (probly be more 'cost effective if any one that sends them sends a bunch of them, save more on shipping that way). Just pm me if ya want to. Remember, you need to send the cars to me. I don't have enuff time to run around searching that often. Ron (Bondo)

I've seen some spoked front wheels for the old AFX dragster on slotcarcentral.com under specialty parts. Might be able to adapt those. Comes with a sway bar as well. About 18 bucks.

Those would be easy to use, as they came off the original Aurora 4 gear dragsters. They are a solid cast, in clear, but with the spokes 'raised' so if someone has a really steady hand, you could actually paint in the spokes. After looking at the pics I realized whose site that is. Their Ebay username is "tubtrack". I have bought from him before. Prices are sometimes a little higher than average, but EXTREMELY fast shipping, and he will gladly combine shipping too. Ron (Bondo)

HELP WITH ARMATURES - Does anybody have a reliable source for Mean Green Armatures? I have bought so many of these from different people and it seems that all get is the left over junk ones. I’ve tried to contact a couple of different Armature Specialist that I found on the internet and they either are out of business or no longer working with armatures, most of the web sites are out dated and when I try to contact them I don’t receive any contact back. So if you have any possible leads please let me know.
