Race week in Tennessee and I needed something to keep me busy. Been wanting to do this very a very long time and I'm finally seeing some of these long awaited projects come together. I got new wheels and tires for '64 C10 two weeks ago. They are sweet! This week and into the weekend I am rebuilding the front end (it's never been done) and lowering the truck 3' front and rear. Yesterday was day one and it kicked my a**!! Like I said this has never been done. This the first time in 56 years some of this stuff has had a wrench on it. Almost done with one side. I know this isn't slot car stuff or race oriented, but I'm pretty excited about this and thought I would share. The truck has been in the family since it was brand new.
Nice truck. Those wheels do look sharp on there! Does she have a twin sister that you can hook me up with? Starting to have the classic car blues. Again. Bet you been going through a lot of WD40. Sometimes I would soak the parts for a few days prior to starting a project. PB Blaster Bill. Nothing holds a candle to that stuff and I'm serious. I'll never use anything else and it has proved itself once again on this project. Thanks for the good word! The end of day two and I am a whipped puppy!

I didn't find out about it till a few years ago. Wish I had known about it sooner.

New AJR logo courtesy of GTS. This was a collaboration if his ideas...my ideas...and his execution. I'm still small time but I've needed something like this for awhile.
Thank you Gale!

Pickup looks real good. Wish I had kept the 67 Camaro SS I had many years ago.

Lots of projects have hit the AJR garage recently. None of them are mine. I am building two complete 4 gear cars with custom bodies for a Nitroslots member to race locally. One is an Unlimited with my gear setup and the other is a Super Comp. I have started with the unlimited first because there is much work involved. Everything is hand made, cut, and drilled. I have built two of these previously that are my own and they have proven to be pretty much bulletproof as far as the gears go. I'm having fun and hoping to build something that will beat the local competitiion. This one will sit under a custom painted 660slots.com '69 Camaro Pro Mod body.
This is the gear plate I designed mounted on the modified 4g top plate. I have to remove material to have it sit flat and at the right height for top gear clearance and crown mesh. Last screw has been left out intentionally until final assembly. Not much material for it to grab onto. I will use a small amount of JB Weld along with the screws.
I am just fitting everything together right now. This is the top 20t gear of the cluster setup on the Tjet pinion. This is basically a Tjet rear gear setup modified for the 4 gear. The reason I built it is there is nothing out there that will take the power I am putting on it....at least not for very long. The Wizzard 20t silicon bronze crown gear will be used. The chassis will have to be cut out to accommodate this gear and the gear itself will need to be modifed to fit. This will probably be JB Welded to the axle since it is very difficult to solder with it installed and not melt to axle holes. I have had good luck with the bonding, but everything has to be perfect.
The lower gear which on this will be a 12t is not installed yet. I will need to trim the excess off the shaft on the bottom to clear the rear axle. Then I will solder both of these gears on the shaft. These builds were from our F.E.D. Unlimited Class that we ran several years ago. We ran at 26v and had 6 - 8 cars that ran regularly for about 2 seasons. A lot of cool innovation came from all of that. It was a blast!! Maybe we should bring it back for a once a year Unlimited 4g bash?? Hmmmmmm
More to come.......

I've cut out the chassis to make room for the monster 20t crown and I've sanded down (a long painstaking process) the hub on the gear for fitment. Ideally....a gear with the hub on the inside would work better for this application.....but I work with what I have and this is it as far as I know. 20t is as small as it gets.
This shows the 12t on the lower part of the cluster assy. I don't believe there is room for a 14t in there. The crown is too big. A 9t might work??
This is the backside of the modified crown gear. I forgot to take some before pictures but it had a .075" hub on it that I have almost sanded completely off.

I have some gears. I don't see any currently listed on the WIZZARD site. PM me Thanks, Al, the 20 T crowns have gotten hard to come by, but what I was referring to was the 20T for the top of the cluster gear which, as far as I know were never commercially available.
