They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, let's find out. Any high performance arm that a tjet can run a 4Gear can now run. I tested this with a 1.6 ohm arm and used 19,20,21,22 crown gears. I blew no gears. I did strip the inside of the gear and had to epoxy it onto the axle. This was before I had the gear lash set correctly. The 19T crown I used was a stock AW gear, still good.

Good idea! Actually, my NTF already has some mods to the top plate, since it has a different crown gear in it, suggested by Jim (tjetsgrig). I didn't cut out as much as yours, but it has been shaved some. :)Not that mine's gonna run any better anyway...lol. That pic will be a HUGE help to someone that's never done it. Ron (Bondo)

I've had the same idea for magna-tractions, but I still can't tell how the brass gear is secured to the plastic top gear.

fastz28 I used super glue. I am going to be making this part for those that don't want to mess with it.

Very ingenious Eagle, what gear are you using on the modified 4 Gear Top Plate?
Thanks

What's the factory one? I've never stopped to count the teeth on one. Did you rivet it back in again or use a screw?
