I would like for my cars Autoworld 4-Gear to roll easier. How does one loosen a chassis/engine?

Not sure on the question, but to make a chassis roll easier. Check axle hole locations on chassis for irregularities and axles for straightness, oil ............ that's about it unless you go to bushings. Try lapping the gears to make them turn easier. Might have to tighten up cluster gear.
Check under 4g tips at top of page loads of info if you go through all of it.
hope this helps ........ PC

Thanks PC. I have some cars which come to almost an immediate stop once they cross the dead track at the finish line and I have others which roll as far as two or three feet. Those cars also run faster down track. My Funny Cars labor to get down the track, while the looser Pro Stock motors/chassis fly.

Here's a couple of other things, pop out the traction magnets. If you just drag racing these you don't need them with the stock motors. Also try loosening up the screw in the back underneath, not too much, it holds down the gear plate , it's easy to get it too tight and puts it in a bind.

Was looking at consistency thread and thought about the loose thing. Said you were having trouble with funny cars. If these are supposed to be faster is it because of an armature switch? I remember having trouble with some 5 ohmers (mean greens and such). Some arms don't fit well in 4gs, retainer on shaft for comm might be rubbing on floor of chassis. Hold to light and look from side to see if you have space between floor and retainer. Can see wear around arm hole in floor if problem is bad. Easiest fix I found was small dremel bit, round, a little bit bigger in diameter than retainer, spun in hole by hand, and a few test fits till arm spun freely with no brushes or magnets.
Hope this helps ............. PC
