For those of you die-hard silicone users that are tired of trying to keep your track dust-free and "squeaky-clean", here's a great tip!! Try switching to urethane. Urethane does not collect dust/debris and loose grip during races. In fact, urethane actually performs like 1:1 real tires by depositing material onto the track surface. The more you run them, the better the grip. For best results, do not clean your track surface with harsh liquid cleansers like 409, etc. You do not want to strip your track surface of the urethane deposits. Simply vacuum your track between heats and just concentrate on keeping power rails clean with a good Slot Rail & Braid Cleaner/Conditioner like Aerocar. I have switched completely to urethane with excellent results and no regrets. I'd rather spend more time racing and less time cleaning. You just have to convince the rest of your race participants to make the switch as well. Just want to share my good experiences. Hope this helps.
