Sam I have two armatures that are about 18 years old. They both ohm in the range stated in the rules. Here are a couple of pics. The reason for question is the poles are green not like the new ones. Need an ok to use on this don't want to freak anybody out.

Not 100% sure but from the photo it appears that your armature has advanced timing!
Better check with Sam as I do not believe that is allowed.

That is neutral timing for a Super G. The brushes are north and south, Tyco is east and west so neutral is in the center of the armature stack for them.

Since it is naturally timed for the G car it is allowed.
Eagle, It looks like you have an old Spud armature? If I remember right, These armatures did retail for around $18 (back in the day). The only issue is that it is not currently avaialable which makes it illegal for this class.

Al I think it's going to be 24v for everything. Power supply is (2) industrial deep cycle 12v batteries. Unlimited amps though.

Thanks for the info!

What will the voltage be set for on the MM/PS race in April? Thank you Alan We will be charged up running 27 Volts. Gasser will be ran about 25.6 to 26 Volts. FED will more than likely be the same as Gasser.

Did not notice the timming thing before. Seems this would put anything with brush tubes at a disadvantage. Tweaking end-bells for G's is advancing timing and they are also adjustable, big + for using a G. Gotta re-think this one was thinking of putting a T bulkhead in G and turning com.....mmmmmmmm

I have a question. I was reading the rules and it says all available inline chassis are allowed, but it also states that motor magnets be ceramic and traction be polymer. So does this rule out the Mega G chassis? They come stock with poly motor magnets and neo traction magnets. Also I don't see a mention if bushings or ball bearings can be used? Sorry to bring this up but I have some Mega G chassis sitting here along with the Wiz green wire arms, wondering if I could use them. I would throw one together and test it but I don't have timing for my aw strip or the right voltage.

The mega G is legal to use for a chassis but you are correct about the magnets. The Neo traction magnets will give you too much down force which would be a disadvantage for you. The motor magnets however are illegal for this class. Does anybody know if they make ceramic motor mags for this car or can some be adapted?

As far as I know there s basically no aftermarket for this car. Besides HC Slots stronger neo traction magnets. I have 2 1.7s and 3 1.5 chassis'. I have noticed that the 1.7's tend to run real close to the stock superG+ cars and the 1.5's are usually a fair bit slower. I just thought it would be fun to build one up but if the magnets are illegal then theres no point. I will just have to figure out something else to build.
