Hi to all, I have been on a hiatus from the HO hobby for a while and I am ready to get back to having fun. I am in the process of gathering the material needed to upgrade Desert Run Raceway's track surface to MDF with continuous power rails. I have been scouring Nitro Slots for information a routed track surface but I can't find any information. What I am looking for is the size of router bit to use for the guide slot and power rails, the dimensions and depth of the guide slot and power rails and the best material to use for the power rails. I have seen some fantastic tracks on this site and I hope someone can educate me on how to upgrade my track. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Dragfool, I've been considering the same thing. From what I undestand you need an 1/8" upcut router bit. I think they cost about $20. I get my bits from The Woodsmith Store, only because it's right down the road from me, but you can find them online at lots of places. The other option is to try and find a thin kerf, fine tooth saw blade for your circular saw. Either way go slow, and plan on lots and lots of dust.
