found another article on electric cars but this one pertains to 1/1 Drag Racing. Looks like our hobby except for the Tesla coil. Could you imagine all the radio shack rare earth dots and epoxy you'd need for these :)Check it out:

Could probably use electromagnet as trans brake and would vary as you depress potentiometer. And/ or go with front wheel or all wheel drive.
