The first race of the 2014 racing season will be the 2nd annual bracket race in January . Back in the early days of hot rods, two different building styles exploded on the scene. The WEST coast had lots of sunshine and smooth roads. The EAST coast rods were built to survive on roads the harsh winters tore up. With that in mind the EAST vs WEST SHOWDOWN just had to happen.
THE RULES:
1. RUN WHAT YA BRUNG (no lexan, must be hard body plastic or resin), TIRES MUST BE BLACK. 2. Dividing line for EAST vs WEST is the Mississippi River 3. Scoring points, one point for each race won. The only way to score a point is when east vs west cars face off. If two cars from same side face off no point given. 4. Prize for side that wins BRAGGING RIGHTS. 5. Single elmination 6. 22 volts for bracket race

Get those N/TFs, as well as the MM/PS cars ready. Those are the other two classes to be run with the bracket race.

Get the word out for the bracket races. These are the easiest races to build for. Contact racers that may not have raced in a while. The worst that can happen is they don't race. The best is they start racing again.

Hey, I'm liking the rules for the bracket race, leaves a lot of room for creativity, if a person wants.

sjracer, everything you want to know about the Blacktop Raceway is listed in the Directory. The look of the track has changed, but length and power are still the same.

Good question Dave. Good thing I looked at the voltage being used,22volts, guess that rules out my stock T-jets. Although it would be fun to see those skinny tired cars spinning most, if not all the way down the track!

The way I see it, if we split the world in half at the Mississippi River you would be on the west side. Just my perspective.

Well, I can think of 4 racers that raced last year in the NTRA from other Western states ; Sukafish, Hairy Canary, Skr, Chima. It will not matter if one team has more racers than the other. Points can only be scored when east meets west.If everybody races even racers that have not raced in a while the teams should work out fairly close.
