Here is another article presented by Nosubfor3 for those who have questions or will be using an AW Super III chassis. AW Super III ReviewHere is link to original article by Paul Shoemaker on the Slot Car Illustrated site. AW Super III on SCINever have seen one of these chassis (any chance of pic?). Like the sound of three position front, and adjustable barrels. What is up with the pick-up shoes? Is it a height adjustment? Or just one of those chassis that seem to eat shoes? .................................tia, PC See the above article. Photos of chassis shown. Or click here to see Google Image Search.

Here is another cool tip I learned from seasoned road course racers. When breaking in new brushes or just cleanig the com and brushes ,on a low voltage setting (3-5 volts)dip a fine point tipped detail paint brush in water and put a drop of water on the comutator. It actually cleans the com and brush barells of crud build up. Yea I know some of you are thinking water and electricity don't mix. True to with AC current. DC voltage is what is in every car we all drive. When you drive through the rain slosh in the mud with an ATV or detail an egine bay to clean road grim of the engine you rinse the bay with water don't you? Dose any thing short out? Try it for yourself. You will be amazed when you hear the revs increase.I use a small appliance wall adapter from something like a remote house phone as a low voltage source. Strip back the wire insulation and solder the wire to the rails of an old piece of track and you now have a low voltage break in source.

Thought I came up with something to make a quick 3ohm while I was talking with Doug, on phone couple of nights ago. LUCKY BOB, is already selling them. Just saw it, M-TECH, near top of page. Also listed is the arm for $6.50. Don't know if it's the same as arm listed under 440 parts (Tyco), for the same amount. Two different codes.
Real easy to make a quick 3 with the Life-Like M chassis. Change the arm to a 3ohm. Re-assemble except for motor mags. Cut retention tab off inside magnet posts that hold ceramic motor mags. Do not remove post, just tab at top. This is so new magnets will line up. They are taller than original stock mags. Slip in metal neo's (I think) from Life-Like T. Then glue in place, I used household "GOOP". Traction magnets are not needed, T-mags in M chassis sit inside of rails and give plenty of down force. Just don't go to big with tires.
A lot easier than putting 3ohm in T-can. Time involved,, dis-assembly, then re-assembly and wait for glue to dry. Quick & easy to do........... .............................. Peter
Oh yea, M-tech, shown on Lucky Bob site has what looks like neo t/mags. If you want t/mags, you can file down original m/mags and fit behind new mags or go stronger if needed (road race).

Was having problem with pick-up shoe lifting from barrels on LL- M w/T- m/mags. Car ran intermittent, found black marks on pick-up shoes where they contact barrels. Shunted from pick-up to barrel curred problem.
Spring location could be problem. Almost the same as G cars. More contact from spring on G's. But if the shoe .........mmmmm.... floats...shunts should help. Going to check G's when they get back from NJ. Only have shunts on one. ...................... PC

Most of the better quality inline chassis have a multi-position guide pin. Road racers adjust for track or driving technique. Has anybody given any thought to pin position as applied to drag racing ?

Quick question fellas can any inline be inthe bbracket or heads up class or is there a specific brand ? Dragman, Brackets have always been any chassis including scratch built. Rules as I saw posted said any chassis for inline class , believe this means commercially available , not custom. ...... Peter
