First race of 2014 season is in the books. As part of the race crew I would like to thank everybody that sent in your cars. Without you girls and guys we would not have a race. Thank you for trusting us with your cars and allowing us to run them. I would also like to thank Robert (Eagle) for letting me be a part of this race and for his family's hospitality!! It's always a lot of fun. Blacktop Raceway is awesome and Robert has done an excellent job of rebuilding the track. Where as the old Blacktop typically ran slightly slower e.t.'s than some of the other tracks, the new track is fast. Thank you to the race sponsors!! And last, but CERTAINLY NOT THE LEAST, thank you to Cordell for all he does and his diplomacy in dealing with issues! Thank you all!!
Next stop Atco Drag Strip and The Super Nationals!!

What JJ said, I have a couple more videos I will post later. I will start boxing up cars Monday to mail out. I still have to go through prizes, that will be later also. This race saw a lot of first, lots of 4s from several different cars, super slow motion video, first international racer (kiwidave) on the Blacktop.
All tracks are different and cars perform differently from track to track. So here are a couple of tips for the new Blacktop. This track is super fast. It likes down force and silly foam tires. For example SKR sent his entry with no traction mags.He does not need them at Drag City. We added two to get him down the track. For those of you that think a plastic track can't be that fast think again. The Blacktop saw 13 runs in the 4s by 5 different entries. Stinger started out in the 5s and finished with a .499et. I am very excited with how well the track performed and look forward to having ya'll back in the summer.
As always if you want me to check anything on your car before I send it back please let me know.

I loved all the race action and beating Phantom back to back after he spent a lot of time building his two cars and all I did was pick one off the shelf and send it in to race. Great job down in Texas,Thanks.

Congrats to the winners. Great race coverage, thanks to the Blacktop crew and EagleVision! Hope you guys had time to have fun in the process.
Hey Rob, Thanks again for hosting! Fun as usual. Have to admit, it would have been better if FED stayed on track. But, you know it's history. Going to try smaller tires maybe different traction mags. If the cars got back today I think I'd step on the MM/PS. Can't figure that one out. If you feel so inclined and have the time. Perhaps you could take a look and see if the brush screws are about to fall out.
.....................thanks for all, Peter (sent PM)

In the archives pancake build part 2 is must reading. It all applies to the 4Gear even though they are using magna-traction chassis. One thing to keep in mind is pickup shoes, adjustment it is most important. Bad contact means a slow car. In the N/FC class the tire size is also very important. Try and get the largest size possible that is legal. Read the rules, if you are not sure ask, do not assume. A clean setup is also important dirt is not your friend in your slot car.
