Hey all, don't know which thread this should go under. But want to pass it along before upcoming race since it may apply to some of the cars being entered in 2 of the 3 classes running.
Saw post on another site about problems with top plates on X/trac types. It spoke of the front tabs that hook into chassis. The author pointed out that the front tabs were to long and pushed his arms rearwards. His remedy was to leave the front tabs out! Let them just lay on the chassis.
I tried this with a 4g since the front tabs on the plates are the same(and I find 4g's gears a pain). Installed plate with screw and clip, left front tabs out. Wheels spin much freer, and run on is longer after shutdown. But that's on 15"'s of test track.
I'm going to try this also on my Pro/Street since that's what I read was about in the first place. Seems that the push backwards causes bowing in the whole chassis.
.....Hope this might help, think it did my STOCK n/fc, PC

I have always wanted to remove those stupid tangs they put there and use a modified clip to hold the front of the plate. There are slots for a clip in the 4 gear there already and it would make the top plate much easier to put on.
