Hey Dave , A heads up if you haven't figured it out already......... If you click on "Most recent Posts" (home page)........ the latest posts are listed under thread titles....... clicking on title , then reply ......... enables you to respond to various threads all from one place ........ saves some time instead of going back and forth from one thread to another. ........ Peter
After the tires......... somebody might ask about braids , or timing , (hint hint)........ hope we get more info ........... ET is starting to become clear........ yea , right ! ........ lol

Unfamiliar with the Tomy turbo, did not know what it was. Still impressive performance. Not sure on this - think the turbo came before the G +........... basically same parts......... turbo has can motor , and is slightly heavier........ likely because of metal can....... think when inlines first started can motor were available for other uses and adopted for slot cars......... The Turbo's and SRT'S (almost same thing) came at a time when companies had already started to move away from the can........to where things are now sort of....... arms, magnets, bulhheads and so being seperated instead of all being contained in one unit....... Like I said , not sure about this - - - more my impressions on the matter .......... hope it helps , Peter

How is timing adjusted on the armature? Is the commutator moved or is there some other method.

How is timing adjusted on the armature? Is the commutator moved or is there some other method. Yep you got it, Dave. Comm is turned in direction of rotation to advance......... 10 or 12 degrees........ works on most....... tied comm's often are glued also, will not work without headaches........ I would suggest using fingers to do this......... inline comm's can get mangled with pliers and such...... some comm's may be glued but usually will break loose.......... BE CAREFUL - CHECK SLACK IN WIRE FIRST .................. Peter
