This seems to be a new system that is scheduled for delivery in December. It looks like it is made by the same company who made the other drag system for Summit which only had start lights and W/L. Now with ET and reaction time it will be a big step forward if the system works well. It looks like the readouts are pretty small however.

Looks like a cross between an Auto World and the Slotdragon. I've got one of each and thought about trying that, but being electronically challenged I haven't tried it.

with the possible countdown lap feature it reads exactly like a SlotDragon with the addition of select able Sportsmans tree. seems someone told me the newest editions of SlotDragon have sportsmans tree available, but I haven't been to the website in forever. however, at $99 it is a good deal less than the SlotDragon.
just ordered one. back order to ship 12 22 14 review shortly thereafter.
looks like a good system for the 143DRG

This looks like it might be a good system. Looks like the readouts may be weak. Only testing will tell. The slot dragon works pretty well however and will be hard to equal. Looking forward to the review.

Let us know how it is Al. I've got one of the first Slotdragons but I'm debating on whether to get it updated and get the optical sensors or just get a new one.

JW The Traxxas system is for use with large scale RC cars. I have been usinf one now for about 2 years as I also drag race large scale RC. It is a nice system and you can pick them up for about $100.00 It is an independent system in that it does not need a PC however you do need there interface so you can get the information on an Iphone or Ipad.
For large scale RC racing its a nice setup at a reasonable price

One thing I like about the Traxxas system is the use of horizontal beams. I wonder if one could modify inferred sensors for use on the slot dragon...

I don't know if anybody has tried an HO car with this system but it seems like it would be hard to read with the small size and high speeds we can run. Also the track would need a separation in the center. Many years ago a friend of mine made up a 1/10th scale drag system that worked fairly well but it gave some problems with alignment of the beams and that was with much larger size cars. If anyone has experience with this system please advise.

I have the Traxxas system and use it for my RC drag racing. It has been design for RC drag racing only.

horizontal beams can be accomplished on nearly any scale with the transmitter and sensors side by side and a reflector between the lanes. matter of fact, Track Mate is considering just that after i had a talk with them.

Reflectors are used in the center of full size tracks and they are not mounted to the track in case a car hits them. The problem on regular HO tracks is that there is very little room for reflectors. There would be good chance the cars would hit them even at the start as I have surely had some fishtail there and even hit the other car on regular HO track.

which is why i graduated to Aurora O-gauge almost immediately and now have a custom, to my specifications, Wizzard track. alas, not everyone can afford a custom track and we want everyone to participate.
